In 1846, Major General Ulysses S Grant provided funding for an experimental firearms company called “Grant’s Rifle Company” which was tasked with developing new gun chokes specifically for muzzle-loading rifles. In 1847, they developed the first successful firearm choke design – the .50 caliber black powder rifle choke. The choke prevented excess propellant gas from entering into contact with your barrel and caused it to fire more accurately at long range targets. Henderson, Kentucky is a small town in the eastern portion of the state of Kentucky. The population was 5,483 at the 2010 census. Henderson is located in Bell County. The community was founded in 1821 by General Nathan Henderson and other settlers from England. Henderson is named after General Nathan Henderson himself. The area that now includes Henderson was first settled by Europeans in the 17th century. In 1821, General Nathan Henderson and other settlers from England arrived in what is now Henderson to help build a new settlement on land that they had purchased from the Cherokee Nation. The name "Henderson" meaning "place of green corn" was chosen for the community because it resembled similar descriptions of Ireland's Wicklow Mountains where corn crops were grown. In 1830, General Nathan Henderson donated land to be used as a school district which became known as the "General Nathan Hale School District." The first school building was built on this property in 1831 and served as an elementary school until 1903 when it was replaced with a larger building which still serves as part of the current structure today. A high school has been built on this site but does not operate currently due to lack of funding. On October 22nd, 1957, President Eisenhower signed Executive Order 10644 giving federal recognition to the town of Henderson through its incorporation into Bell County pursuant toKentucky law No 8-3-2007 (the “Order”). Today, Hendrickson continues to play an important role within our local government with various governmental functions such as zoning Appeals & Development Services; Lewisburg/Henderson Township Government; Board Of Elections; Highway Administration; Corrections Department; Social Services Department; Courts Annex Office; Mayor’s Office & Planning Committee Chairman are all located here locally including Fire Fighters Headquarters which also houses Emergency medical services for Harding County residents who need care outside their homes during natural disasters or life-threatening emergencies like earthquakes or hurricanes etc.; thanks largely to our many volunteer firefighters who respond annually both inside & outside our firehouses!

Henderson, Kentucky is a small town in Hardin County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 2,873 at the 2010 census. Henderson is the county seat of Hardin County and the only incorporated place in Hardin County. It is part of the Louisville metropolitan area. The first permanent European settler in Henderson was James Henderson who arrived on July 16, 1785 from Oldham County, Pennsylvania with his family. He built a cabin on what is now known as State Route 66 about two miles east of present-day Henderson. In 1801, he married Margaret White and they started a little store on Main Street which eventually became one of the most important businesses in town. They also raised cattle and eggs until 1814 when they moved to what is now Pruittsville where they remained until their death in 1865. In 1830, Daniel Boone located his home and farm near present day Henderson while surveys were being made for the Ohio Canal Company's line between Louisville and Cincinnati. His farm extended along State Route 66 north to modern-day Lebanon (now Overton) before turning south to end at Parkersburg Road near present day Union Station on the border of Lebanon Township and Frankfort Township. The land later became part ofHardin County when it was organized as a county in 1834 Governor John Crain designated it as its capital in 1840 based upon recommendations by General Andrew Jackson during his Indian Removal Policy campaign against Native Americans living within these boundaries On September 30th of that year, $2 million was appropriated by Congress for road construction through Loudoun County specifically connecting Louisville with Nashville acrossBloody Fork Creek (then called Little Tennessee River), thus making Henderson an early center for transportation between these two cities . By 1860 this had matured into an important railroad hub having been singled out for investment by several railroads . However despite this importance both physically and economically Henderson saw only sporadic population growth until after World War II led by increased employment opportunities associated with post-war production
Henderson was founded in 1810 by John Henderson and his wife Martha. The town eventually grew and prospered, thanks to its agriculture, timber industry, and manufacturing. Henderson served as the county seat from 1833 until it was moved to Paducah in 1876. In 1923, Henderson became a part of the newly created Johnson County.
