The Glasgow, Kentucky Rifle Association was formed in 1892. The first rifle club in Glasgow was called the Browning Rifle Club and it met at a local school. In 1897, the Glasgow Rifle Association organized its own competition where rifles were shot at an outdoor range. In 1902, they developed a pistol club and held their first match in 1903. In 1907, the Glasgow Rifle Association organized its own annual meeting which drew participants from all over Scotland. They also sponsored a summer rifle program that attracted visitors from all over the United States and Canada. In 1911, the Glasgow Rifle Association created its own journal called "The Scottish gun" which served as their official publication. They also founded a rifle range in downtown Glasgow which they used for shooting matches and competitions until 1917 when they moved to new quarters on Elm Street. From 1916-1918, they conducted their own annual meeting which became known as the Highland Gun Show (HSG). This event featured exhibits from throughout Scotland as well as American firearms manufacturers who exhibited their products at different stages of development. During World War I (1914-1918), the Glasgow Rifle Association participated in many patriotic military activities such as supplying munitions to troops on the front lines and helping to raise money for war charities. They also hosted several international matches between Scotland's rifles and other countries' guns with prizes awarded including shotguns made by Remington Arms Company of New York City and Maxim guns manufactured by Russian manufacturer Averill & Sons Ltd.. After World War I ended, firearms sales continued to increase throughout Glasgow due to renewed interest in hunting after Prohibition had repealed nationally in 1919. The Scottish Gun Show resumed every year until 1971 when it changed locations multiple times due to changing cityscape trends until finally being located at present day Regency Ballroom inside of Limelight Casino complex near Interstate 75 highway exit 232A
Glasgow, Kentucky is a small town located in the Pike County area of Kentucky. The population was 9,811 as of the 2010 census. Glasgow is one of two towns in Pike County and is the only incorporated community in the county. The first settlement in Glasgow was made on December 11, 1800 by John Wilkinson and his family. The town name may be derived from the Gaelic word " Glaschu," meaning "a place where there are trees." The first post office was established in 1803, and the town got its charter from the General Assembly on February 17, 1814. At that time it had a population of just over 100 people. The original businesses in Glasgow were blacksmithing, wagon making, and farming; but due to railroad construction early 20th century Glasgow started to become an important center for transportation and commerce within the township. In 1909 Glasgow became home to America's first airfield when newly constructed Glenn AAF opened at nearby Middleton Field. Throughout World War II (1939-1945) Glasgow played a major role as an ammunition production center with over 1 million munitions being produced here alone during those years including millions of rounds for aircrafts such as B-17s and P-51 Mustangs. In 1951Glasgow experienced its most significant growth when it became home to Paducah Municipal Airport which served both Douglas Aircraft Company's Lexington facility as well as other local airports throughout central Kentucky until 1984 when all civil airport functions were transferred to Hawkins International Airport near Louisville KY under then Mayor Don Blankenship’s leadership which led to rapid expansion at Paducah with new terminals, retail space and more than 12 acres (5 hectares) of new residential development built between 1990-1996 inclusive known today as Eastern Expressway Boulevard/Glasgow International Airport Parkway Extension

Glasgow, Kentucky is a small town in the Bluegrass region of Kentucky. The population was 1,500 at the 2000 census. It is the seat of Green County and has a large agricultural sector which produces hay, cotton, wheat, corn, potatoes, and other vegetables. Glasgow also has a small business district. The town was founded by Scots immigrants in 1827. The first settlers were Hugh McLaren and his family who started a farm on the side of a mountain near what is now Glasgow. The McClelland family followed in 1829 and began to grow crops and raise livestock. In 1847 John Gentry arrived from Tennessee with his family and began to farm land around Glasgow. By 1861 there were over thirty families living in Glasgow including nine slaves who worked on the farms that year. In 1871 James Aitken purchased some land east of Glasgow from William Caldwell for $10 per acre which he used as his farmstead until 1896 when it became known as Aitken Place after him. This property later served as an important transportation stop on the Louisville & Nashville Railroad between Louisville, KY and Nashville TN

In 1825, Glasgow became the capital of the new United States of America and it has since been an important center for business, culture, and politics.
