Bipedalism has been a common form of locomotion for many millions of years. However, bipedalism as we know it began to evolve in theropods, the ancestors of dinosaurs. These creatures evolved two pairs of limbs that could be used independently in order to move around their environment. This process was called bipedality and allowed these animals to survive and thrive in a world where they were unable to walk on all fours like we are today.
Bipedalism is the ability of an organism to move its body along two axes, typically the x-axis and y-axis. This ability allows for a creature to walk or run on two legs. Many animals are capable of bipedalism, but there are some that cannot do so because they have four limbs or because their body is too large for two. Some animals that can only move their heads and upper extremities along one axis (the y-axis) are creatures like whales and dolphins, which use this mode of locomotion when swimming or diving. The process by which an animal moves its body through space requires both these modes of movement in order for it to interact with the environment in a productive way.
Bipedalism as we know it began in Frankfort, Kentucky in the late 1800s when two men, Dr. George Armstrong and Dr. Jameson Woodbury, invented the first bipedal machine. This machine was designed to help with medical experiments and helped pave the way for human walking on two legs.
Frankfort is a small city in the U.S. state of Kentucky, located on the Cumberland River. As of the 2010 census, the population was 20,564. The Frankfort metropolitan area has a population of 38,835. The city is named for Franciszek Starzyński, who served as its first mayor from 1875 to 1880 and again from 1886 to 1892. The history of Frankfort can be traced back to 1795 when French colonists founded the town on the banks of the river below present-day Frankfort Junction. In 1798 it was renamed "Frankfort," after Friedrich Wilhelm von Steuben, commander of American forces in Europe during the Revolutionary War. It grew rapidly due to its strategic location at one end of a crossroads and because it became known for its lucrative fur trade with Native Americans. In 1825 an act was passed by Congress calling for a survey of all lands within two hundred miles (320 kilometers) of Cincinnati, Ohio; however, no action was taken until 1827 when Colonel John Henderson proposed that Frankfort be surveyed as part of this survey. In 1840 Colonel Nathan Bedford Forrest bought land east of downtown from local farmers and began developing it into what is now called Forrest Park – one of Kentucky's most important agricultural areas today. The growth stopped in 1850 due to factors such as soil exhaustion caused by overgrazing and lack thereof; however, Forrest resumed development in 1860 when he purchased additional land along rich coal seams beneath downtown which made possible anew growth throughout much parts including McConnell Avenue today where many large businesses are located including Meineke Carpet & Floor Sales and Kay Jewelers). In 1870 Governor James Kinsley designated downtown as the seat for newly created Hardin County but continued to use Mitcham Parish courthouse until 1903 when it moved out west into what is now Jefferson County under new leadership following county reorganization which followed statehood in 1902 . During World War II many industries were located here including aluminum production at Fort Knox (later built nearby), shipbuilding at Harrodsburg Navy Yard (now KY Hydrofoil Industries), glassmaking at Bardstown Glass Works and other related businesses; however much industry ceased operations after 1945 with advances in technology making consequent layoffs common throughout postwar America especially during difficult economic times like those experienced between 1978-1981 through instance such as Ford Motor Company’s laying off roughly 2,500 employees statewide resulting in then-President Jimmy Carter referring to “the biggest layoff I’ve ever seen anywhere” while attending a White House reception honoring war heroes that year). However some remaining companies have thrived such as Meineke Carpet & Floor Sales being founded by Opie Meineke Sr., father-in-law of company founder George Meineke Jr., who still resides there today with his son Opie Jr.; Infinity Broadcasting System closed their Louisville office moving manufacturing operations inside their home there effective March 1st 2009 while continuing their programming services out Huntsville Alfa Romeo factory across IHwy 59th Street from their original building until that facility closed effective December 31st 2013 also causing Job loss for approximately 800 workers employed there prior thereto) among others etc.), thereby showing just how resilient Kentucky business communities have become even during tough times notwithstanding any national recessionary trends or declines since then). Frankfort is situated on both sides or nearly two thirds upriver from Glasgowsburg Landing on either side forming confluence point between larger rivers Cumberland and Great Kanawha Rivers system creating watershed area totaling 7 square miles extending northward into Virginia River Basin comprising counties around Lexington/Fayetteville/Louisville area northwestward encompassing Pittsburgh County bordering PennsylvaniaTERN PA border southeastward lying within Westmoreland County bounded by Allegheny Mountains To wit: Thus physically Located And circumstantially Occupying A Spot On Which Many hasty Settlements Have Been Made By People Who Believed They Would Find Protection Here From What They Viewed As Thoroughly adverse Weather Conditions Geographically speaking It Is An Ideal Place For Businesses And Its Adjacent Waters Are obstructed By Hills That Would obstruct Their Efforts To Make More Headway therein But Within Limits So That Commerce Can Be Conducted With impunity Provided There Is No Danger Of Exposed Roads Or Major Watercourses Being crossed Which would materially interfere With Navigation Home had Not Protective Measures Been put Into effect To Prevent Objections From Being Mentioned We Shouldprobably Be Living In A considerably more Contentious Region Where difficulties WouldBe Less frequent And Outbreaks less serious Than Heretofore
