In 1824, James Wilkinson developed the Wilkinson-Kendrick telescope which was able to target objects with pinpoint accuracy using binoculars. This invention allowed people to explore new areas without having to rely on Maps and Gizmos! In 1875, John Atanasoff and Robert Hall developed the Atanasoff-Hall telescope which could image 4K resolution using just two pairs of binoculars! This development made it possible for people to see things that were previously too small or difficult to see with their naked eyes. Today, there are many different types of binoculars available on the market. Some of these include those designed for hunting such as those made by Nikon, Bushnell, and Vortex; those designed specifically formilitary use such as those from Browning and Smith & Wesson; and those marketed towards casual users such as those from J&R Optical Supplies and others. The first Fort Thomas, Kentucky post was established in 1780 by General George Rogers Clark. The fort served as a military depot and later as the capital of Kentucky. In 1861, the fort was burned down and its goods looted. It reopened in 1863 as Fort Henry. The fort closed again in 1868 and was abandoned for good in 1869.
Fort Thomas was founded in 1795 by General James Wilkinson as a post on the Kentucky River. The post was named for Thomas, an Englishman who had helped Minorca during the French and Indian War. In 1801, Fort Thomas became the first U.S. military installation on the Kentucky River. The fort served as a base of operations for settlers in what is now Kentucky and West Virginia during the 1800s and early 21st century. The fort played an important role in the development of Kentucky as a state, and its cannons were used to protect settlements along the river from Native American attacks. In 1819, FortThomas became one of two United States military posts on the Ohio River; it remained operational until 1926. During World War II, FortThomas played a critical role in providing security along both banks of the river against Japanese forces OPERATION TORCHWOOD. After war ended, much of FortThomas' infrastructure was destroyed by fire, but portions such as barracks and artillery remained standing until they were taken down in 1984-1985 following restoration efforts led by then-Governor Don Kuykendall Jr.. Today, only a small portion of FortThomas remains standing, including some historic cannon still located at various points around town core In 1978-1979, FortThomas was designated a National Historic Landmark due to its importance within early American history and culture; it has been extensively restored since then and remains an important tourist destination for visitors from across North America TodayFort Thomas is home to several restaurants which serve up traditional frontier cuisine (i.e., buffalo chicken dip or Snake Weed Pie) while also featuring modern touches like flatbread pizzas or salads

In 1870, another man named Cornelius Cardew improved on Conte’s design and created the first true astronomical instrument, the Cardew Telescope. By 1900, binoculars had spread around the world and were used by many people for various purposes including hunting, fishing, gazing at nature and more. Binoculars continue to be one of the most popular types of optical equipment today and are still being used by many people all over the world.

Fort Thomas was the site of one of the most significant engagements in Kentucky history. On December 15, 1775, a small force of British regulars and Native Americans commanded by Colonel George Washington faced off against a much larger force of Patriot militia at this location. In what is now called the Battle of Fort Thomas, Washington's forces were successful in repelling the attack and driving away the enemy. This victory was important because it demonstrated that the Patriot cause was not alone and that help was available from outside the state. The battle also helped convince King George III that Lexington and Concord were not going to be pacified by negotiation or military might. The fort at Fort Thomas served as a keystone for Kentucky's defense during the Revolutionary War. It was retaken by British troops in 1778 after barely holding out against an attacking army led by General James Wolfe. Afterward, Fort Thomas became an important garrison town until its closure in 1815 due to budget cuts caused by Napoleonic Wars efforts to weaken France. Today, part of downtown Fort Thomas remains preserved as a tourist attraction complete with reconstructed buildings dating back to 1778-79.
In 1795, a group of French colonists, led by Captain Pierre Charles Troup, founded Fort Thomas on the east bank of the Ohio River. The first European settlement in what is now Kentucky was at Cahokia on the west bank of the river in 1797. In 1801, Fort Thomas was abandoned and its assets sold to General James K. Polk for $10,000. At age thirty-six years old, Polk became the first U.S. president when he served from 1849 to1853
