The company was known for its quality workmanship and sturdy glasses designs. In 1933, Western View merged with Union Glasses Company to form Union Optical Manufacturing Corporation (UOMC). UOMC continued to produce high-quality eyeglasses until it closed its doors in 1986. During its time as a manufacturer, UOMC developed some of the most popular eyeglasses on the market today: Ray-Bans and Oakleys among them. Another early pioneer within theErlanger optical industry was Myer & Sons Incorporated (M&S). M&S began selling corrective lenses back in 1915; at that time they were primarily used by military personnel for night vision goggles. After World War II ended, M&S shifted their focus towards retail sales of eyeglasses and other sundry items such as spectacles frames and reading glasses (later renamed simply “sunglasses”). M&S operated successfully until 1984 when it merged with Allied Standard Corporation to form Allied Standard Corporation/Oregon Optics Division (ASD) – one of America’s largest optometrists! Under ASD’s leadership, M&S returned to manufacturingEyeglasses again! This time under the name “Myer &Son”! In recent years several new subsidiary companies have been created within ASD: Myer Optical Holdings LLC headquartered outside Erlangen Airport near Frankfurt am Main Germany manufactures contact lens solutions while American Optics operates a factory specifically devoted to producing high-definition video optics products; LensesUSA produces advanced digital imaging lens production facilities around Butlerstown Township located east of Indianapolis Indiana These subsidiaries employ approximately 950 people across four plants supporting over 5 million square feet manufacturing processes including advanced 3D printing technology Finally Myer &Son also owns Arizona's sole certified laboratory testing facility providing independent product research support

In 1887, The Louisville Courier-Journal published an article about the addition of a new optical company in Erlanger. Mrs. John S. Garner, widow of the founder of The Coca-Cola Company, donated the land for the new company on which to build a factory and glassworks. The first product from this new company was a pair of eyeglasses called The Garrard Shades.
Erlanger is a small town in Logan County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 4,521 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Logan County. The community was founded in 1873 by Samuel Erlanger and his wife Catharine. It originally consisted of two log cabins and a few other buildings. The town grew rapidly after the construction of the Louisville & Nashville Railroad in 1879 brought more people to the area. In 1907, Erlanger became home to both the United States Military Academy at West Point and Butler University. Today, Erlanger remains an important part of Logan County with its rich history and attractions. Its main attraction is its historical sites – including the Erlanger Schoolhouse and Old Log Cabin – which are open to visitors every day from 9am to 3pm. Other popular attractions include its annual pumpkin festival and Oktoberfest celebration.

Erlanger is a small town in Kentucky, located in the Appalachian Mountains. The population was 1,457 at the 2010 census. Erlanger was founded on October 17, 1866, by Captain James Fenton and his brother-in-law George Armstrong. The town was named for General Lafayette Erlenger of Germany who served in the American Civil War as a colonel. The first store in town was built on Main Street by Capt. Fenton and his brother-in-law George Armstrong. A post office was established in 1867, and remained open until 1903. In that year, it became part of the Louisville metropolitan area and closed its doors forever. The first school buildings were erected in 1870; however, it wasn’t until 1875 that the first schoolteacher arrived to teach grades one through seven at First Presbyterian Church. That same year saw the opening of the railroad which transported goods to and from nearby Muncie (now Muncie Junction). This freesteam train depot later became known as “The Depot House” because it housed most of the businesses within Erlanger limits while they awaited delivery of their goods from Muncie via wagon or horseback ride to their stores these days located along State Route 421 nowadays called Noland Road just east of I-65 exit 137A/I-465 exit 133B/exit 354B when traveling eastbound on I-465 southbound
In 1801, George Erlanger settled in Kentucky and began to clear land. He named his settlement "Erlanger" after his father, also named George. A year later, he married Rachel Ann Nichols. The couple started a family and continued to farm the land until 1827, when they moved to Indianapolis, Indiana. In 1830, they opened a general store in what is now downtown Erlanger. They were successful and continue to run the store until their death in 1865.
