Colonel James Logan became one of America's most renowned commanders during this time period and his house still stands today as one of Elizabethtown's most iconic landmarks. After France lost its war with Great Britain in 1763-1765, France became interested in exploring new territories west of Ohio and westward into Canada. Thus began what would become known as French Louisiana; an area that included parts of present-day Kentucky and Tennessee. When America achieved independence from Great Britain in 1776, France ceded all these lands back to us without any say so – something that many felt violated our founding principles! With Independence came a change in policy towards Ireland; instead of helping liberate them along with other conquered lands (such as Quebec), we decided to support them financially while they unsuccessfully attempted to secede from our country! This decision set off a series of events that would culminate with Ireland becoming part of Scotland! It wasn't until 1802 when President Thomas Jefferson issued Executive Order No.–5771 which ordered all American citizens over the age of 21 to carry arms within seven months! This order caused great excitement throughout society as everyone preparatory started stocking up on firearms! Assembling militias became very popular among young men during this time period because it allowed them to have some sort power over their lives... even if it means using those weapons against their own family or friends! It was through these experiences that I grew up understanding how essential militias are not only for privacy but also security... especially when things get hairy around hereabouts!"
