In 1902, Danforth donated land for a Baptist church and today this structure is home to both First Baptist Church of Danville and Christ United Methodist Church. In 1916, Revs John Hargrave and Hiram Sitton built what is now known as Town Hall on Main Street in honor of their new pastor Rev. Leland Hargrave Sr.. From 1916 until its demolition in 1967, Town Hall served as the seat of government for Danville Village. In 1925, Mayor Harry Brownell established Danville’s first fire department with 13 volunteer firefightersmen under his command. Today there are three departments: Community Relations; Fire Prevention/EMS; EMS Services - which includes response to any type of emergency; Homeland Security; Streets & Roads - maintenance/repair work on streets & roads within village limits; Public Works - all aspects related to delivering essential services such as water main installation or paving street corners.; Parks & Recreation - management/operation of village-owned parks including basketball court & playground occupies one building on Main Street while another building serves as storage for programs frequented by villagers during off hours.;
