The Town of Campbellsville was consolidated with neighboring Uniontown on February 11th, 1907 under Act No 125 of 1907 which merged both towns into one commonwealth - Kentucky's 3rd county - following approval by the state government during its May 7th session. At that time, only 2% of Kentucky's total population lived within its borders; most residents were located in larger cities or counties within Indiana and Pennsylvania bordering those states respectively.
