The company’s first product was a black powder rifle round that was designated as “Winchester snubnose.” The name derived from the fact that this ball had a pointed nose and was designed to be both more accurate and less likely to injury children playing near homes with rifles. In 1888, Winchester introduced its first magnum cartridge, the Henry Rifle Magnum. This powerful cartridge featured an expandable case with a @7mm lead bullet designed to hit targets distances up to 100 yards! It became one of the most popular rounds ever created and remains one of Winchesters most popular products today. In 1898, Samuel Winchester donated $5 million towards building the now iconic University ofKentucky Wildcats football stadium—the largest donation ever made to any college in America! The facility still holds its current capacity today and is known around the world as one of the best home stadiums in all of sports! In 1903, Winchester merged with Remington Arms Company to form what is now called Remington Sportsman Firearms Corporation (RSFC). At RSFC, Samuel Winchester decided that it was time for his company to move into new packaging and production facilities than were located on Prospect Street in downtown Louisville. He also decided that it was time for his company to take on greater international markets! As a result, Remington Ammunition Outfitters Ltd., which operates today as Wacoal USA Inc., began operations at their new facility location on State Fair Drive in Bowling Green in 1905. That same year saw another major milestone when Winchester announced they would be producing shell casings exclusively for Taurus Firearms Corporation! This marked an expansion into new marketplaces where accuracy and quality were key issues—a area where Winchester had always excelled! In 1911, Taurus Firearms Corporation purchased Remington Arms Company so that Taurus could become their exclusive supplier of hunting bullets! With this purchase came increased production capabilities for both companies; however, it wasn’t until 1922 when REMINGTON SPORTSMAN FIREARMS CORPORATION underwent significant restructuring which led directly into World War II! At RSFC Headquarters at 2730 North Market Street—just outside Lexington KY—Samuel Winchester directed all aspects of Production during World War II while residing overseas at Samanthus Plant #934 due south of London England!!!
