By about 1280 projectiles had been fired successfully out from tubes at high speed (up to 560 miles per hour) which allowed crossbowmen(longbowmen)to take down enemies from a great distance! Crossbows could only fire bolts which would travel a maximum distance limited by how fast they could travel before hitting something else! In 1375 King Charles IV ordered new crossbows with longer ranges that could shoot arrows up to 100 feet! These bows became known as longbows(from “Longitude” meaning “distance beyond which an arrow may fly”)! After this modification Crossbowmen(and later artillery men)were ablekto hit targets far away with much more accuracy than before!

Berea, Kentucky is a small town located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. The population was 1,702 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Lexington–Fayette metropolitan area and is the location of College World Series baseball games since 1893. Berea was founded in 1814 by Captain James K. Hogg and his family as a trading post on the Great Miami River. In 1820, Captain Hogg's son-in-law Colonel Alexander Henderson bought land in what is now Berea from Chief Wyandotte and laid out a street grid and built houses for settlers. Henderson named his house Berea after Berea, Italy, where he had been born in 1797. The first school in Berea was built on a lot north of present day High Street in 1825 by teacher John Ewing and students from nearby Bardstown Female Academy (now Southern Illinois University Carbondale). A Presbyterian church was erected on Main Street in 1830 by Revs Denton Millington and John Aspinwall with assistance from white settlers who donated land for it. This building still stands today across from High School as part of Berea's historical district called "The Old Mill District." In 1837, Captain George Hunter purchased land east of present day Highway 127 between High School Road and Court House Road from Henderson for $2 per acre (1/4 acre = $10) which he divided into two lots to provide more space for farming activities among his new settlers nearby Covington Field (now known as Union County Courthouse). This site became known as Huntersville because so many hunters were killed there during this time period while hunting game along the Great Miami River which ran through much of central Kentucky at that time including parts of Berea Township including today's block between First Avenue South and Park Row North which also includes portions of downtown Louisville also included within current day Lexington city limits when it was created as an independent municipality separate from Jefferson County in 1800). By 1840, most residents had moved away to central or eastern Kentucky due to harsh weather conditions during those years with only a few remaining around original Hunterville site near present day Court House Road where they continued to farm until 1865 when their interest waned and it reverted back to propertyurai ownership by default following its sale by General Jesse Laughlin to Representative William Hance shortly after Laughlin took office as Governor of Indiana Territory on November 3rd, 1865 On July 20th 1861 Drury Price purchases 2 acres north side Main Street just west side alley leading upriver past old high school building then turn right onto new Main Street & house now used for meeting hall purposes only about 400 people lived there before 1913 when parsonage burned down & another home built next door (& 3 barns total) After attending Fayetteville Military Academy while serving with Vicksburg Brigade under Lt Col Robert Ewell I reenlisted September 5th 1862 at age 23 cause my brother did not get draft notice I mustered out June 30th 1863 at age 25 or sooner but didn't serve because I got furlough cause my brother did Received honorable discharge March 15th 1865 due to medical reasons
