Winfield was founded in 1867 by Capt. John S. Winfield and his wife, Sarah. The town became a rail junction in the late 1800s, and served as the county seat from 1892 to 1902. It was moved to Wichita in 1902 and then to Topeka in 1907. In 1934, Winfield was merged with Kansas City to form Topeka-Wichita metropolitan area.
Winfield is a town in the U.S. state of Kansas, located on the eastern edge of Shawnee County. The population was 7,895 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Topeka–Sanipaska Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first known inhabitants of Winfield were the Osage people who lived there before French traders and settlers arrived in 1779. In 1819, Winfield was organized as a town from parts of Leavenworth and Shawnee Counties. The name comes from General James Armistead's victory over Native Americans at the Battle of Fort Donelson in1863. In 1907, Winfield became one of several townships to be consolidated with neighboring Leavenworth into what is now Topeka Township. The merger was designed to provide more efficient government services for both townships and help reduce travel times between them. As part of Topeka–Sanipaska Metropolitan Statistical Area, Winfield has seen explosive growth over the past few decades; it’s now one of Kansascity’s fastest-growing municipalities by population size ( Besides Wichita). With an estimated population growth rate above 2 percent annually since 2000 – making it one of only a handful Kansas towns that continue to experience rapidpopulation growth – Winfield will likely remain among Kansascity’s top five most populous municipalities by 2020 according to preliminary projections prepared by Mayor John Whitehurst and City Manager Jeff Hindman

Picatinny Railmounts The Picatinny railmount is another popular typeof scope mount that was developed during World War II. This typeof mount allows you to increase your sniper's accuracy by adding extra rails on top of your rifle's barrel for attaching optics directly to your firearm (or vice versa). It also comes in a variety of construction methods such as dovetail or screwless installation. However, because these mounts require special tools to attach/detach them from your rifle(s), they are not typically recommended for use with high power rifles or pistols. Additionally, due to their popularity among shooters who need increased flexibility when using various optics systems (e.g., Aimpoint Compatible scopes), they may not be suitable for all firearms owners.
In 1976, the first expandable mount for a camera was developed by West German company Epson. This product was called the ET-1 and allowed users to add an additional 1 or 2x magnification to their cameras. It also featured a built-in light meter and used an adjustable focus knob. This early mount was not very successful and was discontinued in 1978. However, several later versions of this mount were developed that became popular among photographers. One such version is the ET-2 which allowed users to add 4 or 5x magnification to their cameras. The ET-3 also improved upon the original design by adding a light meter and using an adjustable focus knob as well as a raised hand grip for easier handling. The ET-4 was another popular expansion mount released in 1999 that allowed users to add 6x magnification to their cameras. This new model also added a crosshair sighting system for better image quality and accuracy). The ET-5 continued this trend by adding 8x magnification in 2003 however it did not reach widespread popularity like its predecessors due to its expensive price tag). A more recent variation of the expandableMount is called the XM-LX which allows users to add up to 10x magnification with ease (it does not include a light meter however). It has been reported that some photographers are enjoying using this type of mounts because they can now capture images with extremely high resolution while still maintaining good image quality).
Winfield was founded in 1865 by a group of men from Missouri. The town was named after General Winfield Scott, the hero of the Mexican-American War. The community grew rapidly and by 1887 it had a population of over 1,000 people. In 1906, Winfield became the seat of county government and in 1912, it becoming the capital of the newly created Wichita County. Winfield's growth continued until the early 1930s when industry increasingly declined in Kansas and unemployment increased. By 1933, however, Winfield had regained its position as one of Kansas' most important towns. In that year, it became part of the new Wichita County government and remains an important cultural and economic center today.
In 1881, Winfield was incorporated as a town. The first post office in Winfield was opened in 1882. In 1907, the population of Winfield reached 10,000. The first high school in Winfield was opened in 1918 and the first daycare center in Winfield was opened in 1969. In 1984, the city of Wichita merged with Winfield to form one municipality.
