Gun parts history in Prairie, Kansas began with the first guns brought to the area by pioneers. The first settlers in what is now Prairie County were farmers and their horses. They used natural resources such as oak trees and hickory logs to build their homes and started fires in the fireplace to cook food. The first gun that was used in this region was a muzzleloader called the “Prairie Rifle.” This rifle was made from the stock of an old white horse, a piece of wood around the muzzle, a hammer and some nails. It could be fired by simply cocking it and pulling the trigger. There were other types of guns used before handguns became popular in this area. One type of gun was called a “Byron Gun,” which was made from an old cannonball. This gun could be fired by ramming it into a target with another weapon or shooting arrows at it from long distance. In 1876, there were only two schools in this county and one mill available for use as a schoolhouse. So, when six new residents moved into town square after buying land near where present-day Prairie High School is located, they set up shop on what is now First Street between Fourth and Fifth Streets. The six men who founded Prairie had already acquired some firearms so they decided to start shooting practice at their new location just outside town square until they found someone needing ammunition for their rifles or shotguns who would sell them rounds at cost (a practice still followed today). From then on, Prairie went through several name changes before settling on its current moniker: “Prairie” in 1886; “South side” in 1912; “North side” again in 1916; finally, “Prairie High School” back to its original name effective July 1st 1978

Prairie, Kansas is a small town in Shawnee County, Kansas, United States. The population was 751 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita metropolitan area. Prairie is located on the banks of the Arkansas River and has a mixture of prairie and oak woodland communities. The first Europeans to visit Prairie were Spanish traders in 1698. In 1820, General James Kansa founded what would become Wichita with land taken from the Kiowa and Comanche nations. When Wichita was founded, it included parts of present-day Prairie as well as parts of what are now Midway Hills, Garnet Hill, and North Side neighborhoods in downtown Wichita. The original townsite was called "Ft Mickaelson" after Captain John Aiken's landing there on July 10, 1820 Prairie was laid out by French trader Francois Lenoir in 1827 while he was trading along the Arkansas River for goods needed to build Fort Leavenworth across from Wichita. He named his new settlement "Prairies" for his home country of France. The first post office opened in Prairie on April 15, 1830 In 1836 election results showed that pioneer Elijah Beecher had won an upset victory over incumbent Representative George Armstrong Custer in one of the most hotly contested races in KS history; Beecher ran as an independent candidate without endorsing either party or accepting contributions from any political action committees (PACs). With this win enabled him to serve consecutively through 1840 despite being heckled by some members of Congress who accused him of shirkinghis responsibilities as a representative from a territory still under Mexican rule at that time Beecher soon became known as one of KS' most visible public figures due to his work promoting education and expanding infrastructure such as roads and bridges throughoutKansas Territory during this time period including building several dams along the Arkansas River which remain operational today including Atchison Dam which forms much of Topeka's downtown skyline

Prairie, Kansas is a small town in central Kansas that was founded in 1871. The town is located at the junction of U.S. Route 66 and Kansas Highway 35 and it is the county seat of Johnson County. The population was 1,473 at the 2010 census. Prairie has been home to many businesses and families since its founding, including grain elevators, slaughterhouses, and a post office. Prairie began as a farming community on the edge of what is now Johnson County. By 1870, some settlers had built homes near what is now Prairie and by 1871, the community had grown to include a school, store, and barn. In 1875, a railroad arrived in Prairie and soon after several businesses were opened in the community: an elevator company (1876), a grocery store (1877), a sawmill (1878), and an opera house (1879). By 1880, there were also two churches in Prairie: one German Lutheran (founded 1881) and one Presbyterian (founded 1882). In 1886-87, prairie hosted an agricultural fair which attracted attention from around the country.
