Prairie, Kansas has been a part of the United States of America since 1781. The town is named after the Prairie Dog Hills in central Kansas. The first firearm enthusiasts in Prairie were farmers and ranchers who developed the industry to protect their property from Native American raiders. It was not until 1876 that criminal gangs working out of Dodge City began using firearms to rob trains passing through the area. A local revolversmith, Samuel Colt, invented the first breech-loading revolver in 1877 and this gave rise to the cowboy era in American culture.
Prairie, Kansas is a small town in the US state of Kansas. The population was 5,813 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita metropolitan area. Prairie was founded in 1854 by John Wesley Powell and his wife Lucy as a wagon stop on the Santa Fe Trail. In 1865, Prairie became the first town in what is now Wichita County when it was laid out by commissioners from Topeka and Council Bluffs. The town had a population of 2,000 in 1860 and 12,000 by 1880. In 1901, Prairie became an incorporated city with a population of 362 residents; however, it only had 1 resident in 1907 when its territory was organized into Shawnee County.[1] Prairie has been home to many famous people including Bill MacArthur who served as mayor from 1984-1989 and later as governor of Kansas;[2][3] General George Armstrong Custer who died there at age 19 while on his way to fight in World War I;[4][5][6]and Wichita Mayor Tom LeTourneau who won re-election three times between 2005 and 2009 despite being indicted for bribery multiple times between 2003 and 2006.[7][8][9][10]

This weapon was called an “automatic” because you just pulled the trigger and it fired automatically based on how much pressure you put on the firing button. This weapon became very popular and it helped make firearms more efficient than they had ever been before. After this important development, many other inventors came up with new ways to use firearms, such as creating pistols that could fire multiple rounds at once or designing rifles that could shoot explosive projectiles such as shells or rockets! This innovation led to World War II when millions of Americans turned out into battle against Nazi Germany using their favorite weapons!

Prairie is located in central Kansas and was first settled by Native Americans in the late 18th century. The area was later explored and claimed by the United States in 1803, and it became part of the Territory of Kansas under President James K. Polk in February 1846. The town of Prairie was founded on December 6, 1850, as a result of a land grant to Wm. King George Washington by Governor Abraham Lincoln. In 1861, Prairie was renamed Independence after the Union victory over Confederate forces at the Battle of Fort Donelson in Tennessee. The town continued to be called Independence until it was renamed Prairie Village on October 1, 1984.
