By 1915, Pittsburg had 3 businesses and 23 residents. In 1916, the Pittsburg Post Office opened, and by 1923, there were 11 businesses and sixty-eight residents. The growth of Pittsburg paralleled that of surrounding communities such as Lawrence and Topeka. In 1925, the Wichita Falls Joint Airport was constructed just east of Pittsburg, making it easier for people to get to Wichita Falls or other nearby cities. This made Pittsburg an important village during those years when Wichita Falls became one of America's largest aviation centers thanks to Douglas Aircraft Corporation's production plants at Wichita Falls Regional Airport (now Kiowa County Airport). However, by 1970, when Pittsburgh lost its charter as a city status due to financial problems – including high taxes – it had dwindling population size only remaining about seventy-five people within 2 square miles bordering on Interstate 35 along its downtown streetscape once home to more than 1 million people per square mile back then! Despite this lacklustre prognosis for continued vitality or future growth forPittsburgh throughout much of the 21st century; however; over time many local businesses have revived & continue operations while new development has sprung up around them all primarily centered around arts/entertainment services with Limited Liability Company ownership constituting most key players (& investors) therein - boosting their vibrancy yet again!
