The Parsons Rifle & Pistol Club was founded in 1881, and the first rifle magazine was published in that year. In 1882, the first pistol magazine was published. In 1886, the first shotgun journal was published. The Parsons Rifle & Pistol Club became an inter-club organization in 1895. The first annual meeting of the club took place on October 15th of that year. In 1897, it merged with the Wichita Rifle & Pistol Club to form the Wichita Rifle and Pistol Association (WRPA). The WRPA served as secretary-treasurer from 1897 to 1903. From 1903 to 1912 it served as president of WRPA. In 1915, WRPA merged with the Hutchinson Rifle & Pistol Club to form Hutchinson Gunsmithing and Custom Shop (HGC). HGC served as president from 1915 to 1923; from 1923 until its destruction by fire in 1938, it functioned as vice-president under WRPA’s new structure. Then from 1938 until its dissolution by fire in 1945, HGC functioned as editor-in-chief of GUNS Magazine which had been created earlier that year by merger between GUNS Magazine and Hutchinson’s rifle magazine “The Westerner”

Parsons, Kansas was founded in 1867 by John Parsons and his father. The area that now makes up Parsons was part of Kansas Territory until it became a state in 1907. The town of Parsons was established in 1830, and soon became a center for cattle ranching and farming. In 1867, John Parsons purchased the old adobe house on the corner of 10th Street and Elm Drive from A.W. Woolridge. The house is still standing today, and is used as the museum for the town of Parsons. John Parsons began developing what would become the town of Parsons around this time, starting with building a small store on Elm Drive. He also developed a irrigation system to help keep his farm fields lush and green throughout the year. By 1870, when he died, John had built enough homes and businesses to support himself and his family. His wife Emma continued to run the business until her death in 1882. Their son George took over running things after their mother’s death, but he lost interest in it after becoming involved with politics at some point during his career (he served as mayor of Wichita from 1903-1907). In 1906, Samuel Tilden won an election as governor of Kansas to succeed Millard Fillmore (who had resigned due to health problems). After taking office, Tilden made several moves that helped shape the future of Parsons – including approving plans for a new dam on Blue River which would create jobs downstream; creating regulations governing livestock husbandry; and supporting local farmers by providing financial assistance through grants program called “The Grit Award” (which gave money away to towns who fulfilled certain goals). Since then, many changes have taken place within Parsons – both positive AND negative: The population has increased numerous times thanks to waves of immigrants coming here over the years; kids growing up here now are often more experienced than their predecessors due to all the different aspects they have experienced while living here; development has played an important role in helping keep downtown active despite lack of funding from government officials; etc.; but there are also some areas that have seen decline over time such as commercial zoning being introduced into residential areas which can impact nearby businesses negatively; etc., making Forks County one of those areas where change is always happening but never fully stable or finalizing
Parsons, Kansas was founded in 1871 by James Parsons and his wife Eliza. The first post office in the community was established in 1872. In 1907, the town of Parsons merged with the city of Topeka.
