Many of these families continued living here through World War II when much of Wichita lay destroyed by firebombing raids; they also founded many businesses such as grocery stores and restaurants that thrived during that time period In 1957, architects Stout & Hodge designed a new municipal hall which would serve as central government for all aspects of local government including social services such as health care In 1978-1979 two large homes were built on Park Road just east of I-435 between Dodge City Boulevard and Main Street - these homes are known collectively as "The Parsonians" because they remain one of only two remaining examples (the other being Kincaid House) from that era which have not been remodeled or used for any other purpose since their original construction
