However new businesses have arisen recently such as energy production with Lawrence Oil & Gas Corporation being one recent example; this growth will continue as more people move into Olathe to work in light manufacturing or service sectors outside of agriculture or construction

The present day United States Postal Service facility at 14th and Vine Streets opened on October 1st, 1907 with mail service being extended to Olathe through Hastings Avenue days later on October 3rd Olathe has always been an important agricultural center due to its location near the Wichita River and its fertile soil which has produced many crops such as corn, wheat, oats and other grains since settlers arrived in this area over 100 years ago In addition to agriculture there have been many businesses established inOlathe during its history including: First National Bank (1885), Telstra Corporation (1957), K&L Gates (1986) - both now defunct - Armoury & Company (1898), Henneman's Hardware(1963) and most recently Winthrop Pharmaceuticals LLC (2006). Today there are still several businesses active within the city limits but they are more concentrated outside of downtown where there is more shopping options available . Kansan Pharmacy Bldg., locally known as "The Pharmacy", opened in 1995 inside of Brinkley's Restaurant next door to Walmart across from Interstate 40; this became one of only two pharmacies remaining within downtown Olathe when it closed 2002 . The other pharmacy currently remains open serving retail customers only
