Lenexa, Kansas is a small town located in the eastern United States. The population was 9,814 as of 2010. Lenexa is the most populous city in both Sedgwick County and Chambers County. The City of Lenexa annexes Chambers County on November 3, 1912 to increase its population size to 10,000 residents; however this annexation did not take effect until 1919 because Chambers County had no vote on annexation. On May 1st 1913 the entire county became an independent city known as Sedgwick County with a population of 20,000 residents limitlessly expanding its boundaries to include what would now be Lenexa Township and much of present-day Wichita Falls
