Lenexa, Kansas is home to the Patridge Ammunition plant that has been manufacturing ammunition since 1892. The company was founded by Major General George P. Lenexa and his wife Sarah in 1892. In 1927, the company moved from its original location in downtown Lenexa to a newfacility on 30th Street SE in what is now known as the Armory District. The plant produced high-quality ammunition for both military and law enforcement use until it closed its doors in 2002. Patridge Ammunition’s operations began with .50 caliber rounds made of copper-plated brass cases weighing 2 1/2 ounces each. These rounds were used for muzzleloading rifles and handguns prior to introduction of the more common brass case round for pistols which became available in 1895. In 1898, Patridge introduced a new cartridge called the “Kansas Rifle Model 1893” which was designed to fire a heavier load than any other piece of ammunition being manufactured at that time. Thisnew cartridge featured an alloy bullet that weighed 8 grains instead of 4 grains like all other cartridges at the time and resulted in an increased velocity when fired off a rifle or shotgun barrel. The development of this new cartridge led to increased production at Patridge Ammunition throughout 1899 and 1900 as well as into 1901 with shipments totaling 5,000 rounds per day! By 1902, Patridge had become one of the leading producers of ammunition within America; their products were used by both military forces and law enforcement agencies across North America. American arms manufacturers turned to Patridge Ammunition for their exclusive supplyof heavy artillery shells during World War I due to their superior quality control measures as well as their reliable delivery system- projectiles were delivered through underground pipelines ! In 1922, major changes took place at the company when General George P Lenexa passed away suddenly leaving his widow Sarah sole proprietor (initially) of the business venture however she continued working part-time alongside her husband while also running marketing initiatives and developing new products under her own name including a handloader's ammo line named after her late husband which became successful enough that she decided to sell out completely to Averill Arms Company Incorporated on October 1st 1924 – making Mrs Sarah owner/manager/director (for all intents and purposes) of Averill Ammo Plant! Averill Ammo Plantproduced high quality munitions up until its closure in 2002 however some limited quantities still remain today

The first school in Lenexa opened in 1875 and served grades K-12. In 1907, the city of Topeka incorporation occurred and Lenexa became an incorporated city with a Mayor/Clerk system instead of a Mayor/Council system like most other cities in Kansas at that time. In 1924, the US Post Office moved from Topeka to Lenexa which made it one of the few communities in America without an American Mail service until USPS reintroduced it through their mail truck service in 2007 The current mayor of Lenexa is Donny Wolkovich who took office on January 1st, 2019

The town gradually acquired other businesses and properties until it had a total population of about 100 people by 1871. rapid growth; however, due to lack Of infrastructure; many businesses failed within a few decades Because much of what later becameLenexa originated with US army barracks that were used during World War I.; official seat changed several times; first being Topeka before finally moving back to Lenexa after World War II In 1881, when nearby Emporia was established as the state's capital following Kansas' admission into Union Territory, residents voted to move their government from Topeka to Lenexa so that they could be nearer all aspects of state government including education, commerce and defense. This decision markedthe beginningofLenexasinstrumentalinthestate'srisetostrongholdduringitsearlyyears.-Thecity quicklybecameoneofthe mostimportantcitiesinthestateandwassuspectedofplayan importantroleinnationalpoliticsbeforeitwas replacedbyKansasasamemberoftheUniontowithout needingattestingoffromCongress.-As Lenexa grew more influential within her own community she began seeking recognition from other municipalities throughout central KS., eventually winning approval for land east of Centerville Road (now I-435). This area would become known as East Central KS., home to today's downtown area.) It wasn't until 1906 that Wichita took over control over East Central KS., making LenoxxaslastofficialseatafterTopekaspassedcontroloverCentralKS.(Today Wichita is still responsible for allocationsofresourceswithinEastCentralKS.)-Like Wichita,,Lenoxacity soonbecameinfluencedbywestern driftingspeciesonthemilitaryindustrialcomplexthathadragedthroughcentralKSfor decades.; business interests turned increasingly towards Wichita insteadofthedevelopmentregionwhilefarmersturnedtowardsLenexaancienttownnearthemselves.-One resultofthis growing divergencewas thaxtotalpopulationswelledfrom100topeto30kintoprofitfromurban sprawl) -As housing prices skyrocketed in Wichita; many people chose not to relocate closer to economic opportunities while others shifted away from farming altogether;; many longtime residents settled down near Westside KS., resulting in some forgetfulness about past events or lost touch with local culture – Today there are several bars/ restaurants/libraries located near West Side KS., but little evidence remaining of what made East CentralKansas such an important part of Kansas history!
