The Arsenal closed in 1902 and the targets were moved to the present location of Midwest Armory on Walnut Street. Gunners from various locations would come to bring their guns to shoot at these targets. The current target range is located on Girvin Avenue between Maple and Hickory Streets. Instructions are available online or by calling (816) 939-4000. From October through April, there is also a free gun show each day from 10am to 3pm at the Armoury Annex with many different firearms available for sale.

However, economic development in KC began to stagnate after Reconstruction ended and only increased crime rates ensued until World War II when organized crime elements moved into KC neighborhoods
Following World War II KC experienced rapid growth due to post-war demand for jobs opportunities within Boeing Airplane manufacturing plants set up throughout western US Cities such as Seattle Tacoma Portland Oregon Wichita KS etc however this prosperity led to social unrest among white flight workers moving into inner city neighborhoods while African American poverty persisted
