When firearms started becoming more common, they also began becoming more powerful. muzzleloaders became available starting in the early 16th century and soon became widely used due to their improved accuracy and long range potential. Pistol technology advanced rapidly during this time as well, with pistols becoming progressively smaller and easier to fire than rifles or shotguns. Gun powder ammunition was also developed during this time which helped increase firepower even further while still remaining relatively safe when fired outdoors. They started a farmstead known as “Brady’s Bluff” which they continued to operate until 1856 when they sold out to James Hagerty for $1 per acre ($40 total compensation at that time). From this point forward most settlers were either charter members or 'charter stock' – those who bought land outright rather than through purchase by others later on also received compensation for their share in the town Site Selection Committee's decision about sites for future businesses/settlements etc.).
