Kansas City experienced several waves of population growth during its early years; however persistent foul weather combined with natural disasters including Hurricane Marvin in 1888 destroyed most houses in downtownKC and many other sections followed suit over time although some structures still stand today including Riverfront Park across I-435 from which many views can be seen southward towardsStLouisville MO while others have been converted into office buildings or apartments etc... However due to advances in transportation methods including railroads KC slowly regained its lost ground during this period although continuing inflation caused much displacement among both residents & workers alike along with waning investment & commercial opportunities particularly outside downtown during these times... In 1865 local civic boosters led by John Dennett formed a Committee for Improvement/ Development consisting largelyof wealthy businessmen interestedin developing areas north & westof downtown where streetcar service already existed) With this new neighborhood plan emerging another wave OF population growth ensued primarilydue to jobs available as builders working on expanding streetcar lines eliminated hazardous conditions on construction sites)...
