The business, which is now called Binoculars by the Bay, was founded by two men who were looking to improve their vision. They bought some telescopes and began selling them to people in town. The first binoculars that we can see today were made in 1851. It was a time when people still couldn't see very well with their eyes because of an illness they had called "cataracts." The early binoculars used small lenses and could only be used for a short distance because they needed to be held close to your face so you could make out objects up close. But over time, people got better at using binoculars and started being able to see far away too. In 1915, Binoculars by the Bay became the first company in Kansas to sell binoculars that used wide-angle lenses instead of small lenses. This allowed people to see more details at distances beyond 100 yards! Junction City is a small town in southern Kansas. The population was 1,362 at the 2000 census. It is part of the Wichita metropolitan area. The town was founded in 1873 by Reuben and Anna Dodge. It became a city in 1912. Junction City had a population of 2,611 in 2010. The downtown district contains the historical courthouse and jail, as well as several other buildings from the early days of the town's existence. Junction City is located on Interstate 35W just south of Wichita Falls. There are also several smaller airports nearby, including Hutchinson Regional Airport and Wichita International Airport.

Junction City is a city in Kansas, United States. The population was 12,793 at the 2010 census. It is the county seat of Harper County. The name "Junction City" is derived from the junction of two rivers which formed its growth area. The first settlers to what is now Junction City were three families who moved from Illinois in 1855. They named their new town after a small town in Missouri they had been visiting and were impressed by the beauty of that community's waterfalls and eagles nesting on the peak of a hill overlooking the town. By 1865, six other families had also arrived and started settling around what would become Junction City proper. In 1872, an act was passed which created Harper County and designated it as the land for Junction City. The main reason for creating Harper County was to allow for more settlement because most of central Kansas was still part of Mexico at this time. In 1876, there were only 10 people living in Junction City when James Hays became Ulysses S Grant's Secretary of War and ordered all military posts be closed within 5 miles (8 km). This order led to many farmers moving into Junction City because they could no longer work on their farms due to lack of available land elsewhere. By 1880, local businessmen John Ladd and Wm Burch had built up a booming business supplying goods to eastern markets via wagon trains called "The Great Northern Express". A railroad station was built near present day Main Street in1882-83 as part of this trade route. Railroad passenger service reached Junction City through nearby Topeka on May 1, 1886 with tracks running northwest from downtown Topeka alongpresent day US 36 until it crossed Clear Creek north of town on July 9th just south ofpresent day Route 66) during this time period JunctionCitywasknownasTopekagrand centerof rail trafficand commerce
At the junction of the Kansas River and a dirt road, settlers first began to arrive in what is now Junction City. The town was founded by John Sutter in 1847, and it soon became an important trading center for the region. In 1868, Junction City was renamed after General George A. Hurlbut, who had served as commander of Union forces during the Civil War.
