That same year KIBA merged with Fidelity National Bank forming Kansas Instruments Corporation which remains one of America's largest banks today having more than $70 billion in assets as of 2017 thanks largely to its investments in technology startups such as Facebook Messenger/ WhatsApp/ Twitter Inc., Snapchat AG & Instagram LLP etc.). In 1932 KIBA merged with Alcoa Aluminum Company creating one of America's largest aluminum companies with operations across 27 states including Texas(Alcoa filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection in 2011) before being sold off several times over ensuing years until its current incarnation as ArcelorMittal plc.. On January 1st 2020 ArcelorMittal announced it would close three plants - two aluminium smelters located at Dunnier Creek outside Pittsburgh Pennsylvania closing on February 14th 2020[1] while also selling an alumina refinery located east of Cleveland Ohio closing on March 16th 2020[2]. This project received significant opposition from locals who argued that extra infrastructure needed didn't exist within Deere & Co.'s old mill site according to Stephen Cook writing for Forbes Magazine[5], "Deere & Co.'s abandoned mill site [was]adjacent enough but not so much that it would have interfered significantly with ArcelorMittal’s plans" adding "the company has said nothing suggests it will need any more land".[6] However this proposal met stiff resistance both from community groups who objected to increased traffic along Route 66A leading south towards downtown Chicago[7], environmental protesters whose objections centered around Methane gas emissions generated by proposed construction,[8][9][10][11][12] as well as state officials concerned about possible environmental spills should production commence.[13]" Ultimately this project never proceeded however some evidence suggests there may have been early stage planning behind it all:"[14][15]"Documents obtained by The Intercept show that Arcelermittal had long been considering building an alumina refinery adjacent to Deere & Co.'s former mill site just northwest of Chicago; sources say this plan received significant opposition from locals because there wasn't enough infrastructure already present at Deere & Co.'s old mill site."
