Since its incorporation as a municipal corporation in 1907, Haysville has experienced many changes including annexation by other cities (Wichita 1914–1938), growth due to oil production (1948–1973), decline due to loss of jobs associated with oil production (1973–present), and increasing annexation by nearby communities (2009).
