Hays settled down in what is now known as Haysville-on-the-Arkansas River he had no idea that his small community would grow into one of prominence within Wichita County and across the United States! Over time many other families followed suit including those from Topeka who founded Topeka City Limits – one of Wichita County’s earliest business districts – on July 1st 1892! They are credited with being pioneer spirit which helped drive early development within Wichita County! mainline railroad construction arrived shortly thereafter spurring growth along Main Street (now State Road 620) as farmers turned out for jobs at various railroads yards throughout eastern Kansas! These days you can visit numerous museums associated with early settler life such as Old West Museum & Monument located just east off I-35W exit 22nd Street; Pioneer Village established adjacent to Town Hall where residents could purchase items relating to their past including postcards & relics from cowboys & Indians living during those years; surveyed by Wm Dennison surveying telegraph Line laid down by Ulysses S Grant Mapquest Developer Buffalo Bill Cody himself back East whilelivingin Dodge City (1875)… Today there are several restaurants situated right opposite old US Post Office building on main street also home to several bars/pubs/restaurants/nightlife venues etc., making it difficult notto wander off main drag if feeling curious about local history
