Although today little remains characteristic about life lived back then outside of occasional visits by descendants or members of local families living near Wichita or Topeka for shopping or cultural events; it is safe to say that few if any residents today truly know what their ancestors went through – especially given that agriculture has long been abandoned throughout much Midwestern United States save for scattered rural pockets here and there while manufacturing has become increasingly generalized throughout much larger cores like Lawrencetown/Overland Park/Stilwell/Lenexa etc.; specifically slight variations exist both culturallyurally Speaking (& markedly different from elsewhere) & religiously observant (& quite different still even within those denominations) among what used once be almost unanimously Protestant neighborhoods now generally evenly divided among mainline Protestants (formerly Methodists), Catholics (formerly Baptists), Orthodox Christians (& other ‘traditional’ evangelicals), Jews & Muslims etc.—an outcome largely due not only collectively but also individuallyto our growing sameness rather than difference when compared with larger statistical samples around us—a process we often take for granted libertarians might term “Lack Of Diversity [that] Can Hurt Us All”

Garden City’s history can be divided into two periods: the late 19th century when it was a heavily populated agricultural settlement; and the first half of the 20th century when it underwent rapid industrialization and development. At times both periods were concurrent with each other; for example, during World War II many people moved to Garden City because it was one of the few places in Kansas where they could find work that offered good pay and steady hours. The late 19th century saw significant growth in garden city due to its location on the edge of what is now Wichita County – perfect for growing crops and providing goods necessary for local consumption (such as gasoline) without having to go far away or buy things from elsewhere. The town also had access to many new transportation methods such as trains and autos which allowed residents more easily access goods than ever before. In addition, there was also growing demand for housing in this newly developed area – resulting in some amazing houses being built that are still standing today (e.g., Hale House). During this time period there were also several notable people who lived in or fought downtown Garden City including James K Higginbotham who founded it along with his brother Daniel; Drayton Wagoner who served as mayor from 1912-1915; John A O’Donnell who served as governor from 1925-1929;and Mrs Fielding McCormick who played an instrumental role in helping organize Wichita’s first female political group called “The Women” back in 1924! Overall, these individuals helped shape aspects of modern day GardenCity including its economy, infrastructure, social fabric, education system etc.; all while working towards creating a thriving community that would continue to grow even after they left behind!

In 1867, the city's first post office opened, and in 1868, it became the first incorporated municipality in Kansas. Garden City had a population of about 100 people when it incorporation occurred. It grew rapidly during the late 19th century due to its natural resources and its status as a railroad town. In 1907, Garden City became an unincorporated community within the city limits of Wichita. The population of Garden City peaked at around 375 people in 1928; however, it has since declined to around 100 people today.
