Often these firearms are designed solely for target shooting rather than firing projectiles

The American airgun industry was born in Garden City, Kansas in the early 1920s. Around that time, a group of entrepreneurs decided to start a new business by selling airguns - pistols and rifles made from metal cartridges filled with gasoline or other propellants. The first commercial airguns were made by two brothers named Harvey and Harry Ball. They started manufacturing them in 1922, and soon began to sell them to farmers and hunters in central Kansas. The Ball brothers quickly became well-known within the airgun community for their high quality products and innovative designs. In 1928, they opened a small factory on the edge of Wichita Falls, Texas, making the world's first self-loading rifle using an internal magazine instead of a drum magazine. Their products continued to be popular until the early 1930s when World War II intervened and production ceased altogether. The US military had been demand for reliable firearms since World War I, and as airguns became more popular overall it seemed likely that they would also become an important tool of war. This was not however the case; while ammunition shortages during World War I led to some experimentation with self-loading pistols (including one called "The Pistolman"), these devices never caught on past the experimental stage and remained largely unsuccessful until guns like Colt's Model 1911A1 arrived on the market in 1917. By 1924, though, there were over 50 companies manufacturing self-loading rifles (the vast majority being produced by Colt), so gun manufacturers could no longer simply rely on imports to meet their needs; they had to create their own innovation if they wanted to stay competitive. One such company was Remington Arms Company which began producing its own all-metal bolt action rifles back in 1923 under the name "Remington 700". These rifles saw service throughout World War II including operations in Europe where they proved themselves quite successful against Axis forces; even after Germany surrendered at 1945's end these weapons continued into 1946 as part of United States arsenal still held abroad ( primarily Japan ). It is interesting to note that this type of weapon wasn't actually designed till much later downmarket companies like Savage Arms grabbed onto it which then branched out into other calibers .
Garden City, Kansas is a city in Sedgwick County, Kansas, United States. The population was 204 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Wichita–Junction City, KS Metropolitan Statistical Area. The first settlement in Garden City was made on the east side of what is now Elmira Road and Throop Street by Larkin and Haskell families in 1854. The original downtown area consisted of two blocks long by one block wide with several stories of buildings on high ground near the water's edge. However, overpopulation caused Gardenscity to decline in popularity after the early 1990s when it lost access to major funding sources from state government that supported local infrastructure development. Despite these challenges, interest in returning to Garden City has been high throughout recent years as various redevelopment plans have been announced. One such plan would see the reopening of several remaining old industrial properties within town limits which are currently unused or underutilized. Additionally, there have also been proposals for creating a downtown district accessible through public transportation that would serve as a hub for cultural attractions and businesses aroundtown while preserving much of what makes Garden City unique. Despite these exciting developments, progress toward realizing any given project will likely require significant additional financial investment from both investors and elected officials alike - something that may not be forthcoming until later in this century at least!
