There are a few things that everyone knows about lasers. They’re tiny, they shoot beams of light at you, and they can be used to aim them at targets. But there are also a lot of stories behind how laser sights came to be. The first lasers were created in the early days of electronics – in the late 1940s and early 1950s. At that time, it was difficult to create small enough devices to use lasers for targeting purposes. So engineers had to come up with other ways to targetted their devices. One way was through photoelectric convertors, which took pictures of light being emitted from an object and turned it into voltage. This allowed engineers to create devices that could fire off multiple laser beams at once without having to worry about line-of-sight issues or range limitations (though photoelectric convertors were still quite limited). Another way that lasers were used for precisionTargeting was by using holography techniques. A hologram is a three-dimensional image made up of many subimages or levels of resolution – this is why it’s sometimes called “a three-dimensional digital image”). To create a hologram, you need two mirrors that are angled so the image on one mirror appears as if it is on both mirrors simultaneously (or when you hold your hand up close, you can see multiple images stacked on top of each other). Then, you make some changes to the angle at which these mirrors are facing each other – usually by moving one mirror around – and presto! You have a three-dimensional replica of your original image! One more method for creating precise targeting wasn’t as popular though: microwave radiation techniques. Microwave radiation works best when it energy is focused very narrowly (think about how TV signals work: they spread out over large distances but get concentrated near the center). This means that instead of emitting different levels of microwaves based on their distance from the radar or camera system, microwave ovens can emit only specific degrees Celsius or microwave frequencies (the higher frequencies work better because they cause less interference). This allows radiologists working with medical images or CT scans to determine exactly where in space an object is located without any extra noise or guesswork
