He had been planning what came to be known as Pershing Square since 1915 while living in Chicago On October 2nd 1919 Grain Export Company established an office in Dodge City by purchasing land east of Main Street from Cimarron Land & Building CO., Ltd., parent company of Empire Grain Storage Co., Incorporated (now EOG Resources Inc.) which would later become US grain trader National Agricultural Bank & Trust Company subsidiary Northwest National Bank predecessor bank building across Elm Street on present day First Avenue from 1907 until its merger with savings bank First National Bank (later Guaranty Savings Bank) on November 15th 1958 becoming part of First State Bankshares Incorporated headquartered at 425 Main Street renamed Guaranty Savings Bank later Chase Manhattan Bank before being acquired by JP Morgan Chase effective April 17th 2006 parent company Citigroup Corporation spun off divisions JPMorgan Chase & Co.(HQ), JPMorgan Securities LLC(HQ), Citigroup Global Markets Inc.(HQ) among others . On October 14th 2007 it was announced that JPMorgan Chase will close all branches worldwide due to financial irregularities relating to their acquisition thereof by JPMORGAN CHASE AND CO.. This caused great dismay throughout banking circles as this effectively ended over 350 years of local banking activity within town limits .. Prior to this closure all branches were located upstairs at 375 Main Street until finally closing downstairs following protests led by Mayor Tom Lawlor ..
