In 1907 the name change to "Coffeyville" due to the fact that George W. CoffEY had donated land for the new post office and also participated in naming the town after himself. In 1912 a school was built and named after Mrs. J .E .Bennett which continued operation until it burned down in 1938; however, a new school building has been constructed since then which continues to serve as schools for both locals and students from Wichita! Today Coffeyville has many businesses including two banks (J S Bancorp & Trust Company and First National Bank) some restaurants including KFC/McDonalds/Applebees/, several convenience stores (Gourd gas station, Big 8 store), various types of shops such as Stroud Tire & Rubber Co., Smith's Hardware etc., a few churches (Methodist church and First Baptist church) as well as small businesses like paintball bows or pet supplies! There are also numerous parks located throughout downtown providing plenty of opportunity for day trips or even overnight stays!

In 1907, Wichita City were founded adjacent to Coffeyville on the east side of Sedgwick County near Topeka; both cities were merged into Wichita on January 1 of that year.
