Tasers are a type of electrical weapon that were first developed in the early 1900s. They were originally designed as an incapacitating weapon, but their use has since expanded to include other uses such as self-defense and public safety. The history of tasers is reflective of the evolution of firearms in general, and they have been used extensively in law enforcement and military applications across the world. The first taser device was created by American scientist George Westinghouse in 1902. It consisted of a battery, an electrode, and a wire dumpling machine. This device was used to stun animals for research purposes. In 1906, another scientist named Arthur Bliss invented the electric stun gun. This device consisted of two electrodes connected to a power supply and could be used to Stun humans or animals. In 1934, British scientistsdeveloped the Taser (short for “tapping”). This weapon consists of an electrode attached to a metal frame which can be held against any target with enough force. It was first used in riot control operations during World War II. After the war, Tasers continued to be used extensively by law enforcement officials around the world until they were outlawed in 1985 by United States Congress under then president Ronald Reagan’s Gun Control Act Amendments (GCA). After GCA came into effect, tasers began being imported into America from Europe starting in 1987. The popularity of these devices led to their widespread deployment throughout law enforcement agencies around the country beginning in 1990s through new technology called non-lethal weapons programs (NLW). These programs allowed officers to use less lethal methods when necessary instead of using deadly force when encounter situations arise where lethal force is not possible or desirable. These programs continue today as part of firearms training for police officers across America Tasers have also seen outside usage within law enforcement since their inception including use as Standing Possibility Weapons (SPWs) by Canadian police forces during both peaceful protests and riots; however this usage remains limited at present

The use of electric current through electrodes to stimulate the skin has been around for centuries. In 1885, an American doctor named George Washington Carver used a taser on a patient. The device consisted of two metal plates that were connected by a wire. When the current was turned on, the metal plates would move and create electrical sparks which then could be used to cause pain or pleasure. In 1909, Irish scientist John Lanchester patented a design for a machine called an "electric cattle prod." Thisdevice consisted of an electric field generator that was situated above the ground and used to shock livestock with pulses of electricity. At first this machine was only used in rural areas to keep cows from getting loose and attacking people. However, over time it became more common because it could be controlled remotely and it gave ranchers more control over their animals. In 1972, British physician Dr. James Restiford developed the now well-known stun gun device which consists of three coils of wire wrapped around an object such as a stick or finger. When turned on (by either pulling or pushing on one end), the current would flow through these coils and start Triggering)the muscle near where you want it to sting!

Atchison, Kansas is a town in the U.S. state of Kansas, located on the Atchison River. The population was 1,821 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Topeka–Council Bluffs metropolitan area. The first permanent settler in Atchison was John Pohl in 1837. A post office called Atchison was established in 1851, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1907. In 1876 US Senator James Buchanan visitedAtCHISON to view land for his new presidential campaign home later that year; he purchased about two-thirds of what would become Topeka from David Ralston for $10 million dollars (). The city council named its newly created downtown district "Asbury Heights" after Asbury's mill and property holdings withinTopeka city limits. Afton Hospital became operational as an all-purpose hospital on November 10th 1954 which served residents and visitors alike until it closed its doors on September 30th 1990 due to budget cuts by then Mayor George Mitchell Sr.. Republican Congressman Dick Armey spearheaded efforts to keep Afton Hospital open through a private donation by local businesswoman Linda Brown who also served as President pro tempore during Mitchell's first term as mayor.; Armey successfully lobbied Congress to provide nearly $27 million towards renovations which included increased patient capacity from 350 beds per wing up to 850 beds total..................opened finally on October 6th 2002 with an ribbon cutting ceremony presided over by Governor Bill Graves...........the original Afton Hospital building still stands today adjacent to First United Methodist Church.................................the site where Afton Hospital once stood has been redeveloped into mixed use housing & retail space known as Park Place.......................Afton Hotel currently stands vacant across street from current site of Intercontinental hotel................. prior to closure: left bank side of main avenue between First UNMChurch & Park Place Avenue contained several large freestanding warehouse buildings used by grain elevator operators during early 20th century....now extensively rehabilitatedinto high end residential & commercial properties
