There have been numerous shooting target holders throughout Andover, Kansas over the years. Some of the earliest handguns that were ever made in Andover were pistols with three barrels. The targets that were used for shooting at these weapons came from a local quarry called "The Head" near where the city is located. This quarry was started by two men named John and James Head who owned a small farm next to it. They would take all of the scrap metal they could find and turn it into firearms including cannons, rifles, pistols and shotguns. The first handguns that were made in Andover using this method were pistols manufactured by George Stephenson & Sons which was also known as "The Gunmakers." These guns had four barrel barrels and each barrel was about 16 inches long. The first rifles made in Andover using this method were produced by Jesse James & Company which was located on High Street near Third Avenue. These rifles had six barrel barrels and each barrel was about 24 inches long.
Andover, Kansas is a small town in central Kansas. It was founded in 1854 and has since been the county seat of Andover County. The population was 2,821 at the 2010 census. Andover is located on the Butterfield Stagecoach Railroad between Wichita and Topeka. Andover's history begins with a few families who moved to this area from Illinois in 1854. The first post office in Andover was established in 1855, and by 1860, it had grown to include a population of over 100 people. A store opened near the current courthouse in 1865, and within two years, another store had been built on Main Street. In 1870, the first school building was erected; it served as both a public school and a seminary for ministers until 1916 when it became an elementary school. In 1886, an addition was made to the old school building which housed a library; that same year also saw the opening of Andover's first Baptist church (now First Baptist Church). In 1896, Andover began its own government; it consisted of a Mayor and six Councilmen. That same year saw one of America's earliest bicycle races take place (the "Kansas City Bicycle race"), which took place on Main Street across from present-dayAndover High School. The town continued to grow rapidly during World War I; by 1918 there were over 200 residents living in what is now downtown Andover! In 1920, Andover incorporated as an independent city; this occurred just days after its first election as mayor (which resulted in four council members being elected). Throughout much of the 1920s and 1930s,and into the 1940sas well,[1],AndOVERSTANDINGScontinuedtoimprovemagnificently! Over time various other businesses have joined forces with local nonprofits to form what is now known as "OneCity". Today - more than twenty years later - DowntownAndoversouthwestsideremainsoneofAmerica’s most vibrant communities!

Andover, Kansas was a small town in the Wichita area of Kansas until the early 1900s. The Andover post office was established in 1879 and remained in operation until it closed in 1915. The first store on this site opened in 1881. In 1895, the town had a population of just over 100 people and an inn was built that same year. The first school in Andover was built in 1902 and served grades one through four. A second school was built in 1905 and serve grades five through six; however, it closed soon after due to low enrollment. A third school was added to the scene in 1909 but again closed due to lack of students. Despite these setbacks, Andover continued to grow with annexations from other towns until 1911 when it had a population of 145 people. In 1913, Andover organized itself as a village and began to develop its own infrastructure such as water towers and an electric grid; however, these efforts were not successful and eventually failed. In 1922, Andover reverted back to its previous form as a small town with a population of just under 200 people. However, this attempt at revival did not last long because by 1945 the population had shrunk to just 50 residents. Despite their struggles during the 1920s and 1930s, Andover residents refused to let their community die despite being forced out by development projects around them; instead they fought tooth-and-nail against any attempts at displacement or absorption into larger communities nearby. This resistance ultimately led to the decline of Andover throughout the 1940s as developers took advantage of itsSmall Town Syndrome by offering better opportunities for economic growth within their boundaries than within those of neighboring villages/townships/cities). By 1960 only 20 residents still lived there while surrounding villages boasted populations upwards of 2 500+ individuals (albeit with smaller budgets). After years of decline, Andover finally recovered during the late 1980s when new entrepreneurs decided that this once struggling small town could be revived if given some badly needed investment attention (specifically JROTC troops stationed nearby during that time helped spur business activity)). This effort has seen recent resurgence with modern fireplaces put into use within local businesses along with more recent construction projects pushing up property values so that today locals can once again call themselves "Andovers" without havingto worry about whether or not they will be able to keep their home

The town was named after Dr. John Andover, a member of the U.S. Congress from Massachusetts who helped to found the United States Naval Academy in 1795. After years of growth, Andover became an incorporated city in 1907. In 1948, the city was renamed after James H. Bradford Sr., one of America's most prominent bankers and philanthropists who made significant contributions to education and public health in Andover and neighboring communities
