In addition to its various commercial establishments, Urbandale also features two churches - First Baptist Church which opened in 1916 and Christ Reformed Church which began services in 1963. Most people who live or work in Urbana know their neighbor either through business or social interactions; however there are also some unique aspects that make this community special such as its strong civic spirit which often manifests itself through events such as outdoor festivals or car shows. One example of this spirit is the annual " urbanetainment" festival which takes place during October downtown Urbana- including art galleries, theaters, restaurants and more- attracting thousands of visitors each year!
