In 1885, a man by the name of George Eastman started manufacturing the first photographic Kodak camera in Rochester, New York. The camera was an early form of digital photography and was used to create prints on paper. In 1915, American photographer Edward Weston purchased one of Kodak's cameras for $1,000 and began using it to make his own films. By 1935, Kodak had ceased production of all cameras and went into receivership. However, between 1936 and 1938, they produced about 10 million new film cartridges which allowed for continued photography even with the lack of available storage space. After the Second World War ended in 1945, many photographers returned to making use of optical equipment such as lenses and filters due to advances in electronic technology that made it possible to capture images without having to print them on paper

Pella, Iowa is a small town in the US state of Iowa. It was founded by Danish immigrants in 1847 and became a city in 1923. The population was 8,651 at the 2010 census. Pella is located on the banks of the Des Moines River, about 20 miles (32 km) east of Des Moines and 40 miles (64 km) west of Omaha. The river forms the border between Pella and other towns to its north and east. The first settlers to what is now Pella were Danish immigrants who arrived in 1847. They built a log cabin on a bluff overlooking the river. The first mayor of Pella was John Munch, who served from 1848 to 1850. In 1863, heavy rains caused flooding that destroyed many homes and businesses in nearby Amesbury Township. The citizens of Pella rallied to help clean up the damage and raised money for local charities. In 1896, they erected a large stone pillar with an inscription reading "In Memory Of Those Who Lost Their Lives In Flooding Of 1863." The city's website says that one reason why Pella became an important center during this time period was because its location made it easy for goods transported from other parts ofIowa to be sold here cheaply using wagon trains travelling downriver every week or two months during harvest season
Pella was founded in 1851 by Peter Olson and his family. The town was named after Pella, Sweden where they were born. The first post office was established in 1852. In 1855, the first school opened in Pella. The townspeople donated land to build a railroad station in 1865. After the railroad arrived, the town quickly grew and became a popular tourist destination. In 1909, Pella incorporated as a city and began to grow more businesses and services. In 1969, Pella voters approved a referendum to change its name to Davenport because of the growing population in that area.
