The final product from Wesson Firearms Corporation was the modern revolvers such as the Colt Single Action Army revolver and the Browning Automatic Pistol. These products became very popular with law enforcement officers and military personnel around the world due to their reliable performance and easy operation. Another early player in Newton’s gun barrel industry was Rifled Barrels & Gunstocks LLC., which was founded in 1906 by Enos Millsaps Jr., a resident of Newton who had worked for Smith & Wesson muzzleloading experts Wilkinson Swordmakers Ltd.. Millsaps decided to start his own company because he saw an opportunity for innovation in rifling technology during World War I when bullets were being created at a much faster rate than ever before. He soon developed new methods for manufacturing rifled barrels that allowed them to be used efficiently on artillery guns, tanks, aircraft carriers etc.. In 1948 Millsaps merged his business with another local firm called Henneman Manufacturing Company which manufactured muzzleloading ammunition products under various brand names including Universal Muzzleloader Ammunition Inc., Remington Ammunition Co., Western Ammunition Corp., etc.. By 1957 all these companies had been folded into one larger organization called Redding Arms Corporation who continue production today with various product lines including hunting rounds (including Game Day Rounds) through out their range

The town of Newton was founded in 1849 by a group of farmers who traveled from nearby Clearwater. The community grew quickly, and by 1860 had a population of 140 people. In 1868, the town became an incorporated municipality. In 1902, Newton became the first city in Iowa to be built on the site of an ancient Mesopotamian city known as Nimrud.
