Red dot sight history in Muscatine, Iowa can be traced back to 1892 when a group of men from Des Moines, Iowa founded the Red Dot Sight Company. The company was started with the goal of selling red dot sights to law enforcement officers and their families around the United States. The red dot sight was first developed by a team of engineers at the Red Dot Sight Company. The original design featured a small dot on an illuminated circle that allowed officers to see their target without having to take off their hats or jackets. In 1924, the company introduced a new model which featured a larger black and whitedot on an illuminated circle. This model became known as the “Combat Model” because it was designed for use in combat situations. Throughout its years of production, the Red Dot Sight Company produced over 100 different models of red dotsights. In 1949, the company merged with another manufacturer and became known as American Optics Corporation (AO). AO continued to produce red dotsights until 1992 when they filed for bankruptcy.

Muscatine, Iowa is a small town located in Muscatine County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,812 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Dubuque metropolitan area. The Muscatine Historic District was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1984. The first settler in what is now Muscatine County was James Averill in 1836. He and his family set up a log cabin on the banks of the Des Moines River. In 1839, John Fenton built a house near where present-day Main Street crosses the river. By 1840, two other families had also settled here: Daniel Webster and his wife Sarah (née Crouch) bought land around what is now West High School from Moses Browning for $2 per acre. Mrs. Webster laid out a road to connect her farm with those of her husband and others in early November 1840; it became known as "Webster's Lane." They also erected a log schoolhouse that year which still stands today on First Avenue south of Second Street in Muscatine.. In 1846 there were only 8 residents living in Muscatine when an act entitled "An Act to Regulate Commerce and Excise Tobacco" was passed by Congress; this law introduced new taxes on tobacco products that would help finance American Civil War efforts by reducing smuggling activity across America's southern borders.. In 1851 Mayor Isaac Purdy purchased from Peter Jenson one hundred acres west of downtown Muscatine for $125 per acre which eventually became Parkland Drive today.. On July 25, 1850 Jacob Kapp opened Zion Church (later renamed Christ Lutheran Church) at 4th & State Streets which served as the first Catholic church west of Illinois.. In 1853 David Stanley founded Stanley’s Mill which produced flour for local markets until 1862 when it closed down due to financial problems.. For some time after its closure Stanley’s Mill operated as an opera house which could seat 300 people during performances but this too ceased operations sometime around 1915 or 1916 due to declining attendance rates; it has been said that parts of it still remain standing today! In 1865 Battle Creek National Forest was created adjacent toMuscatINE county limits and within its boundaries several settlements were established including Glenwood Springs(later renamed Clear Lake), Black Hawk ( later called Sioux City), Florissant(later renamed Cedar Rapids), etc..... Most notablymuscatsiteeastern boundaryline with Clear Lake between 1861-1865 named after US Senator George Mifflin who fought against Boundary Line Provisional Order (BLPO) while stationed at Fort Douglas opposite Clear Lake...... Finally “the end” arrived for both Battle Creek NF & muscatsite when Classes Closed Sept 30 ’92 thru Oct 5th 1992 physical destruction final

In 1846, Muscatine, Iowa was founded by a group of Methodist Episcopal missionaries. The town was named for the Muscatine River which flowed through the town. The mission station was established in 1851 and the first school was built in 1857. In 1907, Muscatine became an incorporated city. The population of Muscatine reached 10,000 by 1912 and it had a library, hospital, post office, and several businesses including a grocery store and restaurant. In 1968, the city annexation created more than one million people living within its borders who now make up the majority of Muscatine’s population. Muscatine is located at 38°25′N 94°55′W (38.9062°N 94.1984°W). It has a total area of 13 square miles (33 km²). The elevation is 1,500 feet (460 m). As of 2015, there are no active water resources in Muscatine or any surrounding communities so all municipal services are provided by Des Moines Water District #1 which serves as the primary source for drinking water to most residents within Muscatine limits as well as adjacent townships and villages. The early history of Muskatie can be traced back to 1849 when Methodist Episcopal missionaries from Louisville arrived in Iowa on horseback looking for a place to establish missions after completing their travels in Europe during that year’s religious revival movement known as “the great Awakening” led by Methodists such as John Wesley himself. Among these missionaries were Reverend Watts and his brother-in-law David Waddell who soon began construction on what would become known as the “First Missionary Society House” at Second Street and Centre Avenue just outside downtown Muskatie where they lived with their family until they moved into permanent quarters in 1850 while still accepting guests from nearby towns like Cedar Rapids who were also seeking missionary opportunities in Iowa because rail transportation then existed between Chicago andIowa City making it possible to travel cheaply to these regions.. While Methodist Episcopal missionaries did begin establishing schools throughout Iowa during this time period additional schools were not established until after passage of the Kansas–Nebraska Act allowing states east of Nebraska to secede from US government control on January 1st 1861 becoming Dakota Territory following disputed elections that fall resulting in member state Dakota Territories having gainful employment rights over those west of the Missouri River rather than being under US jurisdiction like Nebraska which remained under federal control until January 3rd 1865 when this territory became Montana Territory courtesy of Secretary Edwin Stanton’s Order No 4 based upon vote cast by territorial members at a special session convened pursuant thereto regarding this matter prior to its transfer from Nebraska Territory onto Montana Territory effective February 14th 1865 . During this time period various other activities took place aroundmuskatie such as checkers being played on Sundays at Fenton Park while ice cream Socials were held outdoors each summertime attended by local merchants while whiskey sales were conducted inside Commercial buildings overnight before concluding with dinner prepared indoors using ingredients procured locally at bargain prices .. nearly every day some type activity took place whether formal or informal depending upon community spirit running high especially during times when religious fervor gripped many Iowans
