Marion, Iowa is a small town in the southcentral portion of Iowa. The population was 3,717 at the 2010 census. Marion was established in 1854 as a station on the Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. Ford who arrived there from Illinois in 1854 with his family. He built a log cabin near what is now the courthouse which served as his home until he died in 1876.
