In 1976, The Ammunition Exchange Company Inc., along with also another local business called Republic Arsenal (now known as Midwest Armoury), merged into American Eagle Firearms Corporation to form what would eventually be known as American Eagle Magazines Incorporated (AEFC). AEFC continued operations through several changes until it went out of business in 1984. American Eagle Magazines ultimately folded after just four years due to financial difficulties; however their legacy lives on through their successors who continue operating today under the name American Eagle Ammo Company LLC (AEMA). AEMA has since expanded their product line considerably to include both firearms and ammo products.; however they remain primarily a rifle magazine company.)

Keokuk, Iowa is a town in Johnson County, Iowa, United States. The population was 1,811 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Des Moines metropolitan area. The first post office in Keokuk was established on February 14, 1878. The present building was built in 1898 and has been used as the town hall since then. Keokuk was named for David Ewing Kook (1824-1902), a pioneer settler who arrived in 1847. Kook's family moved to Keokuk from Illinois in the mid- 1840s and he became an elder of the Methodist church there. In 1853 Kook married Susannah Ladd, also from Illinois; they had five children before she died in 1888. A local historian called Keokuk "the most religious place I know of anywhere." Kooky's Store & Restaurant opened its doors on Main Street on October 15, 1912 and continued to serve customers until it closed its doors on January 8, 1984 due to lack of patronage. The restaurant sat vacant until it was purchased by assistant city manager Rick Hickey and renovated into apartments starting in 2007-2008 with support from the City government through subsidy programs like Block Grant money which were created during the Great Recession era when public services were budgets downgraded or eliminated altogether throughout much of America because of budgetary restrictions set by Washington D.C.. However, because of an Indian war that year, the community lost most of its residents and only remained functional as a village until 1851. In 1852, when the Kansas Pacific Railroad came through Iowa on its way to Omaha, Keokuk became one of its stations. As rail travel increased in popularity throughout America during the 1860s and 1870s, so did trade between the towns along the railroad line. By 1875, Keokuk had reached its peak as an agricultural center with more than 100 businesses located within its boundaries. However, due to economic conditions around the turn of the century and increasing competition from other cities in central Iowa such as Ames and Davenport-Molinek,[1] Keokuk's economy began to decline starting in 1907. However, since World War II it has regained some stability with steady growth thanks to new development downtown including an information technology company known as Intel Europe Plc.,[2] several small businesses,[3][4][5][6][7][8][9][10]and an arts center which opened in 2006.[11][12][13][14] Additionally,[15][16]Keokuk has seen significant revitalization in recent years with both retail (including two Walmarts)and professional services moving into downtown; this has driven job growth for local businesses across all sectors including restaurants/bars/nightlife/theatre among others.[17][18][19]} As part of efforts underway to promote agriculture statewide,[20],the city has partnered with farmers markets throughout central Iowa; these have helped provide fresh produce and local content to areas without much access to food sources outside major urban areas
