Johnston is a small town in the US state of Iowa. It is located on the Mississippi River, about 20 miles (32 km) south of Sioux City and 10 miles (16 km) north of Cedar Rapids. The population was 1,814 at the 2010 census. The first gun in Johnston was a shotgun that fires shot balls. The first rifles were made by Charles Goodrich in 1871 and installed in Fort Atkinson during the Dakota War of 1865-1868. In 1872, Randolph Hearst built a fort at nearby Council Bluffs to protect his new movie colony from Sioux Indians. A rifle company was raised there to garrison the fort, but it soon disbanded because there was no need for such a large force on such an isolated location. In 1881, George Armstrong Custer died while leading his 3rd Cavalry Regiment against Sitting Bull's Sioux Nation at Battle Creek near what is now Dubuque, Iowa. This event led to increased gun control measures across America and Johnston became one of the few towns in America without any guns until 1934 when regulation passed by Congress allowed universal background checks for all handgun purchases. In 1916, Union Carbine Company began manufacturing machineguns here called Type 88s which were used extensively during World War I as part of George Washington's "partisan" forces fighting against Germany and Austria-Hungary respectively. The company closed its doors in 1924 due to prohibition laws which had been introduced by President Woodrow Wilson following the American Revolution; these laws were designed to limit gun ownership among certain groups and classes of people including those who could afford firearms illegally or through bootlegging operations. Hearty debate continues over whether or not Americans should have more access to handguns than ever before given their propensity towards mass shootings dating back centuries; however, this debate seems primarily based upon semantics rather than doing anything about firearm violence which has cost lives and millionsUSD in economic losses each year

Hammer has two positions: cocked (i.e., in battery) and un-cocked (i.e., not in battery). For handguns with strikerfired mechanisms, there are also striker fires with three positions; cocking primer before each round goes into ammunition (.45 ACP), cocking after each round goes into ammunition (.380 ACP), or single action only where no primer strikes cartridge case before bullet leaves revolver muzzle
In 1861, Johnston was founded by Danishmen and Swedes. In 1881, a store was opened on the northwest corner of the square. In 1905, the post office moved to its current location on Main Street. The first rifle in Johnston was built in 1876 by Wm. Henson.
