In 1828, Congress created Johnson County, including parts of present-day Iowa City, under jurisdiction of Missouri Territory; however, no official action followed until February 2nd when General David Hunter moved 3 cannons from Fort Smith Arkansas into Council Bluffs for use as part of siege operations against Mexico in that year's Mexican–American War In 1836, Iowa Territorial Governor George Atherton designated downtown IA as the temporary capital while Jefferson County was organized from portions of Johnson County A new courthouse was built in downtown IA in 1840 which served as county courthouse until 1907 when an new courthouse was dedicated just south east across Interstate 80 from today’s First United Methodist Church . The old courthouse burned down on November 5th 1909 . It wasn't until 1888 when a street plan for Downtown IA became available which included streets going northeast/southwest (2nd Street NE & 4th Street SW), currently known as Old Main Street This would later change to Broad Ripple Boulevard & University Avenue In 1902 Mayor John Hines approved platting out Prospect Heights which would become one side or edge of what is now Snelling Ave & Wabash Ave This development would continue until 1966 when plans were made to demolish all but 1 block off Snelling Ave between Wabash Ave and Wabash Rd due to concerns over flooding resulting from heavy rains during 1965–1966 tornado season

With its improved technology, this sight helped make Laser Gunnery easier than ever before! This type of sight remained popular until around 1990 when new developments in optical design made it possible for shooters to aim any aiming point within 100 yards using just one eye! This new development called for much better optics which allowed shooters To take advantage of precision shots far beyond 100 yards! In recent years however, advancements have been made in both optics and software so that lasersights can now provide excellent accuracy even beyond 600 yards!

After World War II ended, much economic activity switched from agriculture to manufacturing following federal investment in desalination plants and new transportation methods that made goods more accessible throughout America. In recent years there has been significant development around UIUC located within walking distance including new restaurants/cafes/bars/nightlife options (elevated streetcars make for great views!), increased development around downtownincluding several large office buildings which have resulted in some displacement of residents (but overall positive developer reaction), possible zoning changes that may increase market value for some properties within downtown area but decrease housing values elsewhere on campus periphery which could lead to more people moving into central Iowa City seeking opportunities for job security than they experienced before moving here
