AfterIowa became a state in 1867, coralvillette continued to be administered by Forrest's company until it merged with other companies under his control during receivership proceedings in 1871-1872. The first schools were established in Coralville in 1875; they were called the Indian School and High School (now Coralville Senior High School). In 1886, William Tecumseh Sherman visited Coralville while on his way to battle General Ulysses S Grant at Peoria Junction near Council Bluffs on October 16th & 17th – this event may have been influential towards later attempts at racial integration within local schools throughout America! In 1902, James Joicey opened "Joicey's grocery" which was soon followed by other businesses such as Joicey's clothing store and Joicey's Drug Store before becoming defunct around 1924 or 1925 because of World War II shortages related to paper rationing during the war effort. On January 8th 1919 Charles Aiken took over ownership from father-in-law Judge Augustus Bogan from Joicey Drug Store just east of town center across from Post Office #2 where he would later open Aiken’s Liquor Store & Café which remain well into present day day days! For many years groceries like those listed above could only be bought fresh/unprocessed from farmer’s markets adjacent to their place of business! This grocery store also refused service to customers who brought their own meat or produce! One can still find remnants of these markets today just north of downtown Coralville where you will find several playgrounds/paved walks leading away from them
