After the war, Gruening reopened his business but continued to operate it out of an old farmhouse on Third Street until it closed down permanently in 1984 after years of decline due to competition from more modern businesses.. In 1990, Coralville had its own post office which served as a center for community services until it closed down in 2002 because of budget cuts.. In 2006, Coralville was selected as one of fifty towns across America to receive funding through grant administered by USAID/ODI (the world's largest development grant program) making it possible for them to begin construction on a new high school which will be completed by 2020.. During its heyday as a small town with close-to-home shopping opportunities thanks to its location just off I-80 exit 10 northwest (near present day Burlington), coralvillians enjoyed many annual festivals including corn festival (three days), strawberry festival (two days), carnival (five days), apple Blossom Festival (four days), hayride/motorcycle ride/festival (one day each week during early summer months) and fireworks show over Des Moines every Fourth of July weekend during late April or early May long before any major events like those taking place today within city limits took place! There were also often smaller gatherings such as quilting bees or garden parties lasting several hours; these usually took place at home or at nearby parks between midweek evening through late Friday nightfall when there was plenty of open space inside again outdoors not filled with people ubiquitous throughout much larger cities nowadays!
