The third type of bipOD was developed by Roman people who used an old staircase as their main tripod using an old tool called amanubrium (figure 3A-C). Finally, during World War II American soldiers were using helical tripods nicknamed “alframe” which worked just like trees shaped pods that could stand on frames instead of having feet at the top (figure 3D-F).

In 1951, Cedar Rapids became home to one of America's first computer labs when MIT built their Laboratory on White Rock Creek. After years of growth, traffic congestion,and environmental issues caused by oil spills dating back to the early 21st century,[1] Mayor Ron Smith announced his planto demolish many buildings within downtownFremont Street Historic District during his inaugural speech on November 3rd 2009[2][3][4]. On October 15th 2013 KUSA reported that demolition plans for Downtown Fremont Street Historic District had been scrapped after some residents voiced objections about possible damage done to historic structures[5]. It has been announced that parts of downtown will remain untouched while work continues on renovating other areas around the district including Church Street between First Avenue and State Street[6].
