These were later combined into one large park now known as Prospect Park/Riverside Gardens which spans both sides of Third Street between Grand Avenue and Interstate 35W On January 14th 1893 Burrard Island Light House burned down while being used as a storage depot by local farmers during winter weather conditions caused by bad ice fusion near Cedar Rapids Three years later on October 10th 1895 another fire destroyed several buildings on Burrard Island when water getting into an open fireplace caused sparks that started a ballastless engine moving cargo (coal) overland from Kaskaskia to Rock Island
