Zionville has had a number of different businesses have been established here over time including: an ice cream parlor which operated from 1917 until 1951; two grocery stores from 1949 to 1959; three dry goods stores from 1961 to 1984; four restaurants from 1987 to 2002; five hair salons from 2003 to present day; and six auto parts stores since 2004. There are also several nature trails that are available for exploration within minutes of Zionsville proper as well as a large golf course located just outside the town limits.

Zionsville is a small town in Jennings County, Indiana, United States. The population was 2,965 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chicago metropolitan area. The first European to explore and settle in this area was Deputy Sheriff George Patton in 1814. He and his men built a log cabin on what is now Zionsville's east side and named it "Patton's Cabin." The original post office called Zionsville "Dunnstown" until March 1, 1907. The name was changed to Zionsville after Levi Denny, an early settler, donated land for the village site on July 6, 1847. On May 20 of that year, the first school opened in Zionsville with twelve students from Schenectady Township. At that time there were no roads or sidewalks within the town limits so schoolchildren had to walk two miles down Main Street each way to get to their homes or businesses. The first store in Zionsville was built by Paddy Dunn on December 5th of that year. The store operated until November 30th of 1903 when it burned down due to high winds which caused damage throughout the community including many homes and a barn which were also destroyed along with some of the business buildings around it. In 1906-1907 construction began on new roads and sidewalks within the town limits which greatly improved conditions for residents as well as opening up much more economic opportunities for local merchants and entrepreneurs who soon responded by building even more businesses downtown including several banks (one still extant), numerous retail stores (including Sears & Roebuck), as well as multiple schools including one high school which opened its doors on September 15th of 1908 (one such early school structure remains). By 1930 there were over 150 businesses operating in downtown ZionsVILLE! On October 10th, 1942 during World War II German American Bund members bombed three churches located six blocks south of downtown Zionsville resulting in death/injury among civilians and damage/losses among military personnel stationed nearby; that day also marked America's entry into World War II formally becoming an ally of Nazi Germany under President Franklin D Roosevelt! After days of deliberations federal authorities arrested 22 individuals associated with this attack; 16 citizens were charged with conspiracy while eight others received lesser charges after making admissions before government agents; all but two defendants eventually went free upon their surrender or flight abroad rather than serve time behind bars – an event chronicled primarily through propaganda films created by Hollywood during those difficult years leading up to war’s end! The bombing has been alluded to frequently throughout history both locally and nationally through various commemoration events but little understanding exists today about what actually occurred that fateful day seventy years ago!
Zionsville is a city in and the county seat of Zionsville County, Indiana, United States. The population was 5,521 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Indianapolis–Anderson metropolitan area. The city was founded in 1827 as a small post office called "Collinsburgh." It incorporated as a city in 1892. In 1898, it became the first county seat of Zionsville County after it was created from portions of neighboring Posey and Union counties. The name originated with Jordan Hill (later Knowlton) who donated land for the new town site. The first stop on the Underground Railroad for African Americans were Zionsville residents Drayton Wells and his family who operated a farmstead near present-day downtown Zionsville from 1839 to 1840; Isaac Hempstead ran a tannery on Third Street from 1830 to 1840; John Coyle operated an early gristmill on Old State Road between Main and Market Streets in1843; Solomon Northup worked as a laborer on Indian Land east of present-day Sneedstown until he volunteered to undergo surgery to remove an arrowhead that had lodged in his shoulder in 1847; George Washington Carver lived at 409 Wabash Avenue from 1865 until his death in 1948; Nathan Bedford Forrest lived at 608 Race Street from 1901 until his death in 1942. In 1912, Zionsville became home to America's first airmail service when Western Air Lines began operations out of its facility located on Second Street north of town; this service remained active until 1978. In 1927, General Motors opened their plant adjacent to what is now Northwestern Mutual Tower which remain one of Indianapolis' most iconic symbols today. In 1990, Apple Inc.'s computer headquarters relocated outside Indianapolis after years of negotiation with then-town officials over zoning concessions necessary for development near I-465/I-65 interchange caused intense community protest culminating with an election victory by Mayor Tom Weisner which ended GM's presence within town limits forever.
