The first firearm shirt company in Zionsville, Indiana was established in 1892. The name of the company was “National Arms Company”. The business was started by Curly Landon and his brother-in-law, Charles Schieffer. They manufactured firearms for local farmers and hunters. In 1912, the company changed its name to National T-shirt Corporation. In 1916, the company relocated to a new location in Zionsville and became known as National Rifle Association (NRA). The NRA made rifle clothing available for purchase through their store. In 1934, NRA merged with other gun companies to form Colt Firearms Corporation (CCF).
Zionsville is a small town in Indiana, located about 20 miles west of Indianapolis. The population was 1,569 at the 2000 census. The village plat was laid out in 1832 by James K. Ziegler and his brother John. At that time it consisted of just a few houses and a farmstead on the east side of Whatcom Creek. In 1835, the area became part of Clay County when it was organized from part of Hamilton County. It remained within Clay County until its annexation by Indiana in 1907. In 1927, Zionsville passed an ordinance establishing public schools for all children in the village-an idea that had been floating around for years before finally being realized. The first school building was completed in 1928 and served as the village hall until 1952 when it became the new Post Office annexe. The original school building still stands today and is used as a community center (see photo). Zionsville has many businesses including several banks, two grocery stores, several restaurants/cafés, a post office, and two churches-the smaller one being called First Presbyterian which is now known as Stroudsburg United Methodist Church after its donation to the church by Edwin Erdman in 1923 In addition to these businesses there are also numerous homes with some dating back to before 1800s or even earlier! There are also three golf courses within walking distance - one built specifically for farmers who growing crops near what is now Zionsville; another less than 2 miles away which offers championship golf privileges; and yet another less than 5 miles away which offers beginner’s lessons for those just starting out

Zionsville is an unincorporated community in Putnam County, Indiana, located on the east side of the Vee River. The population was 514 at the 2010 census. Zionsville is one of three villages in Putnam County that are part of Greenfield Township. The first settler in what is now Zionsville was John Brown who arrived in 1798. A post office called Brownsburg was established in 1803, and remained in operation until it was discontinued in 1836. In 1837, a group of farmers from Putnam and Wayne counties formed the nucleus for what would become Greenfield Township. The first settlers were Levi Weeks and his wife Nancy (née Haines). They built a log cabin on a small stream near present-day Zionsvilleon November 12th, 1837. The town site was surveyed by George Stephenson on December 11th, 1840 and laid out as a village by him and James Denny on January 1st, 1841. It became an incorporated settlement under state law on February 24th, 1851. By 1860, there were over 100 residents living here including 60 farmer families with between 20 and 30 acres of land holdings; most working local farms or raising livestock; some manufacturing goods such as saddles and harnesses using foundry work done nearby at Albion Foundry Company founded by Nathan Lyon.. Most citizens lived close to their homes while others took up farming or kept horses for transportation purposes only
Zionsville is the birthplace of George Washington. It was also the home of Indiana's first government, the First French Company settlements in this area were founded by Pierre-Jean de Lacrosse in 1679. The Zionsville and Point Pleasant Railroad was completed in 1853 and served as a transportation artery for settlers moving westward from Illinois.
