During World War II, several companies located in or near Westfield produced materials for use in Nazi Germany: United States Steel Corporation (USSC), Midwestern Tool & die Corporation (MTDC), Hormel Foods Corporation (HFC), Bethlehem Steel Corporation (BSC), General Dynamics missiles/missiles/aircraft corporation (GDMC) and others. For many years afterwards there were allegations that some factories operated with complicity by US corporations with respect to war production while others were simply closed down without any explanation or compensation to workers who lost their jobs because their industry halted production due to enemy action or lack of demand due to peacetime economic conditions - these allegations have never been fully resolved although some investigations are ongoing into possible wrongdoing by certain businesses involved in wartime production).A number of museums exist within or adjacent to Westfield including The Village Museum which focuses on early 20th century life within the community as well as local history; The Great Western Railway Museum focusing on locomotives used primarily within WF&O Railroad company operations; The First Methodist Episcopal Church which served as both a social center for locals before becoming largely abandoned after 1965 when service stopped; Mount Carmel Cemetery which contains remains dating back over two centuries including those from pioneer settlers who lived around this area such as Levi Coffin who settled hereabouts around 1800 Aiken Green Lane is also located nearby along State Road 30 east of I-465 exit 35B
