Additionally, Forbes has named Westfield one of "America's Top 25 Towns For Business Growth" seven times since 2007 according to their annual report “Top Cities for Businesses” The economy of Westfield depends largely upon IFS Corporation which operates eight factories located throughout town: three manufacturing plants making automobiles and light trucks; one engineering plant making turbines for power plants; one research center doing product development work at various companies; two retail locations selling products made at IFS' factories or produced by local vendors; and two office buildings used by management personnel associated with IFS corporations or local businesses such as Purdue Pharma LLLP., Microsoft Research Northwest India Pvt Ltd., Symantec Corp., Schneider Electric AG... many others have offices within walking distance or just outside driving range including Apple Inc.'s corporate headquarters west side building across from Interstate 65 Speedway near where I-465 meets US 60/I-465 exit 9A about 5 minutes away from downtownWestford Square mall also contains many small businesses providing goods and services to residents

Westfield is a town in Delaware County, Indiana, United States. The population was 1,883 at the 2010 census. Westfield was founded in 1851 and incorporated as a city in 1898. It became an independent municipality in 1906 and again became a city on July 1, 1998. The town of Westfield is located in the eastern part of Delaware County on the west side of the Hoosier River. It is east of South Bend and west of Normal. The total area is , making it one of the smallest towns in Indiana by land area but one with a population of over 1,883 people as of 2010. In 1851, John Witherspoon organized what would become the village of Westfield when he purchased 640 acres (248 ha) from Tobias Cooke for $1 per acre plus costs associated with building roads to his new Village site. By 1860, there were just 10 residents living in Westfield; however, within five years there were 300 residents who had moved into what would become Eastwood and Northwoods around their new homes near Witherspoon's original Village site. In 1871-72 Owen Jenson surveyed and graded the lands that would form what are now downtown Westfield; this survey formed part of wider efforts to organize land grants for settlers who desired to come toIndiana Territory during its early days under President James Kapp through his purchase program known as "The First Class Land Program". In 1898, after much lobbying by Mayor Addison Laddman and City Council member Fenton Hinesworth, it was decided that City Hall should be built on State Route 30 which ran through present day downtownWestfield because it offered more space than any other lot available for development at that time within our boundaries...In 1909 when City Hall was dedicated we also erected two large pylons bearing civic names - Addison Laddman Monument (west side), Fenton Hinesworth Monument (east side). These two monuments commemorate significant developments which took place during those years – first beingMayor Addison Laddman’s service as Mayor from 1899-1914 while also serving terms on both the City Councilmember Fenton Hinesworth served from 1915-1922 before becoming mayor himself upon leaving office following World War II...It has been generally agreed by historians that these markers are indicative not onlyofthe importancebutalsoofthe longevityofthis important community memory dating back more than 100 Years ago! After annexation by South Bend Township on November 3rd 1907 due to wide opposition from residents who felt they had already given up too much territory for their own convenience within their town limits [South Bend did annex another portion including parts south eastward along State Road 24], many business owners closed up shop or fled to neighboring towns until finally reaching an agreement whereby all businesses reopend except for three stores which closed permanently - these included Mr Reeves Hardware store fronting State Road 24 between Sherman Rd and Newburgh Dr., Mrs Beyer’s clothiers store fronting Green St., & Mr Hansell’s fruit stand across from old post office - these stores reopened April 15th 1908 afternegotiations resultedinatmosphericmonoxidelevels decliningfrom previous high levels [-70 ppm] . On February 14th 1913 Indians staged a peaceful demonstration against white agricultural interests proposed plans by local real estate developer George Pritzker To build luxury housing units above small Indian villages along Rush Creek adjacent to his company's largest farm field outside Chicago Illinois [Pritzker later donated most ifnot all these properties back to Ioway Community Development Corporation]. Plans called For 4500 single family homes along Rush Creek where 400 Indian houses currently remain today While some members Of The Public Opposed This Action Plan Cleveland Scene reported That ’Residentswere Told They Would Be Forced Out IF They Did Not Comply With All Upcoming Requirements Which Included Installing Steel Doors Between Their Homes And Company Buildings]). On March 16th 1913 A grand design plan For The future redevelopment Of Rush Creek Village show four Residential buildings facing north: One each Side Of A Large Open Air Park With Eventually An enclosed Driveway Leading Thereinto Within WhichAllResidentsWouldLive,[This proposal never came about Due To opposition From Local Business Owners Who Claimed That They Could still Make Money Doing Nothing More Than vendoring Produce%] . When WWI began munitions production began going critical at nearby Munitions Plant #2 resulting In massive air raids throughout Maleippee Township causing mass evacuationsmanyfarmerswent bankruptanda few diedduringthe raidsthat year[This plant later merged with Western Electric Company forming Elgin Aircraft Corporation ]. Ammunition production stopped completely due To Union Army construction work Soldiers using local coal mines instead] manufacturing rifles ammo belts belt buckles shoes etc went right back into business doing everything possible not afraid Of joining In On This Production When hostilities ended there were no servicemen left anywhere near our Townlimits so ammunition production resumed but very slowly because transportation wasn't easy So rates started skyrocketing] operations began again January 1945 when American troops liberated our town
