This control allowed them to dominate the rifle market for many years; however, competition began to emerge at this point as other firearm manufacturers began producing better-quality guns at lower prices. In 1988, WRA merged with Remington Arms Company Limited (RAM) which made them stronger yet less profitable than their predecessors. However, RAM still managed to keep WRA afloat through acquisitions until 1995 when RAM merged with Brownells Corporation (BOW) which made WRA much more successful again but also left Ram without any significant profits overall. Since then, RAM has been desperately trying unsuccessfully to sell off portions of WRA while trying not make any major changes that would compete with rival firms like Glock AG or Sig Sauer AG; however these efforts have not been successful so far and RAM is currently inactive within the industry altogether according to some sources[1]. primarily because no new products have been announced from either company since 2006[2]. Despite this lack of progress however there are some signs thatRAM may finally be aboutto achieve profitability once again thanks to plans for a new factory outside Indianapolis[3].

The city was founded on December 12, 1836, by Colonel John Prentice and his men after they discovered an Indian trail that connected Fort Wayne with Cahokia on the east side of the river. The town grew rapidly due to its location on a navigable waterway and its agricultural production which included corn, wheat, cotton and soybeans. In 1851, Valparaiso became a part of the new Indiana Territory when it was created from parts of Michigan and Ohio. In 1857, it became part of the newly organized United States following Mexico's War with America. The population reached 30,000 by 1870 but increased to over 50,000 by 1890 due to industrial growth in nearby cities such as Hammond and Terre Haute (now Indianapolis). Growth stopped during World War I because Of prohibition which drove manufacturing out of Indiana; however later recommenced due to importation quotas placed on beer imported into American states by Prohibitionist legislatures The economy rebounded during World War II thanks to exportation opportunities stemming from wartime rationing policies In 1951 Valparaiso became an instrumentality for Nixon's " flight from Cold War politics" through economic liberalization The city experienced rapid growth following amendments made to local government laws providing for self-government Lackluster planning characterized early 20th century development while afterward there were mixed successes including becoming one of only three cities in IUPUI history to be known for both arts and commerce Post-industrial decline followed suburbanization while Arrivals trend reversed leading eventually to reurbanization; however this time led initially towards higher education

Valparaiso, Indiana is an unincorporated community in central Putnam County,Indiana. It is located on the south bank of the White River, about 5 miles (8 km) east of Granger and 3 miles (4 km) west of Valparaiso. The post office was established at Valparaiso in 1868, and closed in 1984. The town was laid out by John Stephenson in 1835. He named it after Saint Louis, Missouri, where he had been born two years earlier. Valparaiso originally consisted of a few scattered log cabins and a small store. In 1837 Stephenson donated land to the Townsite company for the erection of a town hall and other public buildings. The first meeting of the Valparaiso Township Company was held on October 6th that year. soon afterwards Stephenson donated another lot to the company for school purposes which became known as Stevenson School Site #2A today’s Main Street). In 1839 Drury built his first mill on thirty-six acres (14 ha), just upstream from present day Main Street between South Seventh and Eighth Streets (). Today’s dam marks the point where this mill operated until it burned down in 1901 (). After Drury’s death Hallam & Co., a local cotton ginners firm moved into business at this mill site around 1840 (). The First Baptist Church was organized here on December 12th,1847 (). A blacksmith shop also opened here in 1849 (). The departure of many white settlers during the American Civil War led to increased population growth within Valparaiso Township; however industrial development did not begin until after World War II when businesses began moving into town from outside Indiana with new mills such as Armour Manufacturing Company (), JBL Audio Factory (), Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company (), IBM () and Hormel Foods Corporation () all settling here over time. Today there are more than 30 businesses operating inside or near downtown Valparaiso including several banks (); 2 medical institutions (); 2 dentists (); 2 veterinary clinics (); 1 law enforcement agency ; 1 transportation hub consisting of 4 mainline roads (+1 off-ramp); numerous restaurants/cafes/bars; plus hundreds more family-owned shops, services and dwellings dotting every inch of downtown streetscapeRural life has continued unchanged since before large numbers migrated into cities during Prohibition era with people still living close to their farmsteads; however some residents commute to larger metropolitan areas for workaday jobs
